Team of the 2010s

Watling is a good shout but I forgot him, which is easy to do since he's a kiwi.

Anyway this decade has seen more competitive cricket than the previous one but aside from a handful, there haven't been many consistently top tier performers. The previous decade had one world-beater team, whilst this decade has no side that tours decently. Lack of true ATGs too, but cricket has been more interesting as I've said. Maybe that's just because of all the away lollapses. I suppose Smith and Kohli are very close to being ATGs with their aggregates being comparable (raw stats) to recognised greats like Hammond, Kanhai, Harvey. I realise length of career is an important factor. For the 2020s, I'm not putting my money on Cummins and Rabada. Hope to see Blessing Muzurabani succeed also.

lol jks i know you're not precam you don't antagonise people enough
I'll get there soon enough if people keep posting rubbish like "Cummins>Anderson" "ABdV never downhill skiied" "Kamran>Saha" and "Chanders wasn't a selfish ****". Truly outrageously dumb opinions which deserve aggressive put downs the kind I'm incapable of.

Dendarii

International Debutant
And Amla plays in more bowler friendly conditions. I'd take him as opener over Cook
Even though Amla's only opened twice in his career, and the last time was in 2010? I know that a number three is pretty much an opener if an early wicket falls, but shouldn't the openers for a team of the decade have opened regularly in that decade?

i kinda miss having one OP team to have a go at but equally this decade has been pretty competitive and the lack of an OP team creates all these funny cry flame arguments about who is best so im happy

Cummins seems to do well when other Aussie pacers do poorly like on the SA tour. Hazelwood bowled better than his figures too. Cummins and Abbas are legit my favourite guys going around but suggesting Cummins>Anderson is just stephen being stephen.

people post this unironically, proving beyond all doubt the failure of freedom of speech

also i think it was kallis and smith (the aus one) who were meant to be the downhill skiiers based on very little evidence. get it right you **** troll

cbf going back to read posts but **** anyone who wrote Kamran > Saha
the only thing going for Kamran in that comparison is that he featured in the HKT20 Blitz - a once in a lifetime experience that is being denied to Saha, and other Indian cricketers, by the BCCI.

I would like to see a measure of AB's impact, like the impact average series CW uploaded recently. There was something special about him, that so few have. Looked impossible to get out when he got going, was pretty versatile and had X factor. Definitely think he underachieved based on stats.

I didn't say K Akmal was better than Saha. I wrote 'almost' and was clearly exaggerating,

I certainly don't think Saha is anywhere close to a team of the decade either. I'd have Watling, QDK Safraz, , Prior, M Rahim, Bairstow and Haddin ahead of him though.

Is Saha even in the top 10 keeper-batsmen?!?!???

I think I'd almost pick Ramdin, Wade and Khamran ahead of him.

Bolo

State Captain
Are you being obtuse or just passive aggressive without having thought this through? If the later, it's pretty clear he has batted in more than one way in his career, that I would not be referring to matches where he has scored big, and it is highly unlikely I would be talking about the one era of his career in which he was consistently scoring big. If you know enough about his career to point to a period of downhill skiing you know enough to know what I'm referring to.

If you want to bring downhill skiing into it, he was not always the only decent bat in his team. It was a very strong lineup for a short portion of his career and a decent one for the majority of it. Regardless of the strength at the time though, there were times that were just beyond the abilities of anyone else going, and they could only look to him

Sarfraz drops a third of his catches (I'll dig the stat later, saw it on Cricinfo), QDK has been sloppy behind the stumps lately. Great talent though. Watling, Prior and Haddin are legit contenders. I just went with the most recent guy.

stephen was claiming in all seriousness that Jackson Bird would be the best bowler in any other country other than SA just last year IIRC

gotta love it

AB vs AUS is pretty much the shopping list you pick the greatest batting performances of recent times from. It's a bad idea to pick on performances vs a single country but the Gulf in ability is hard to ignore.

Plus there is the fact that Smith is a FHTB who has done a whole lot of stats padding, while ABs awesome stats don't even begin to do him justice because he doesn't bother score anymore once he has won it for his team.
lol can we not go a day without this supreme foolishness?

Ironically, your statement regarding AB here (not bothering to score when his team has won it) is actually far more suited to Smith than the man you're attributing it to.
