Tallest cricketers

Yeah Zoysa had me fooled when I first saw him as well, thought "bloody hell he looks incredibly tall" then I found-out he was only fairly tall.

Guess the fact that he opened the bowling with Vaas, who bowls with a fairly similar action but a much smoother run-up, and is one of the shorter seam-bowlers you'll see, is kinda off-the-scent-throwing.
Jonathan Agnew (who is 6ft 5, possibly 6ft 4 now that he has slouched with age, no doubt) said Zoysa was 6ft 7in because he interviewed him and even towered over him.

RP Singh is 6ft 2in while Sharma is probably touching 6ft 5in. By the way, Sreesanth is 6ft and 5ft 8in.
No way is Sharma only 6'5", but the 6'3" and 6'4" listings are truly puzzling.

James Franklin is 6'5" or perhaps a fraction less and Sharma is comfortably taller.

Look at this picture of Sharma towering over Venkatesh Prasad by a solid 3 inches. Prasad has previously been mentioned in this thread as one of the tallest ever Indian cricketers.

For me, Prasad is around 6'4" and Sharma is at least 6'6".

Are you serious? No way in hell is RP Singh anywhere near 6'4". He's about the same height as Yuvraj, maybe a bit taller, but definitely 6' or less.

Here he is next to Harbhajan and Uthappa, both of whom are well under 6'.

Next to Sreesanth, 5' 8" or so.
You are way off the mark here man.

Harbhajan is listed at 5'11". I saw him from a distance of approximately 1 metre, over a period of about 10 minutes, precisely 4 days ago. I am 5'10 1/2" and can confirm the 5'11" listing as more or less correct.

I also thought Sreesanth was quite short when I first saw him but by all accounts he is in the 6 foot range.

I think these pics confirm RP Singh as being in the slightly over 6 foot zone, maybe 6'1" or max 6'2".

VAP Van der Bijl

Not sure how many remember - vintcent van der Bijl - the genial South african giant of the 70's - was i think 6' 7.5""or 6 8

Wonder if someone can fire a query for height in statsguru

If you're using a BMI of 25 as the standard I'm not really surprised

Money on Guptill and Elliott as the two who aren't btw
Elliot as I recall has always been very fit and held fitness in high regard, so yeah seems about right...

remember trainings from him where we'd spent 2 hours on fitness and 1 hour on cricket...
basically our goal was to get fit for the tours and the cricket we would get at our club...

told some great stories of being the fittest and most boozed up team in South Africa at one point.
