OK, you're clearly not familiar with his post history if you think there's the first thing light-hearted about said comment. It's not good humour, it's not tongue-in-cheek, it's not anything other than an attempted snide comment. And one about which I honestly could not give a gibbering jive, as people who know nothing about me attempting to cast aspersions on me (in any way, to whatever degree) rarely do. Not, at least, when they're acknowledged by most people as types to take little notice of.

BTW, "character assassination" is fairly obviously a deliberately OTT term, it's just I can't be bothered to think of a lighter one that equally describes the attempts accurately.

One correction: it wasn't an "attempted" snide comment - it was definitely a snide comment.

But yes, you're just proving zinzan's point - stop being such a drama queen! Holy hell, "cast aspersions"?

If other people can't post that many times while also making time to do the other things they enjoy, that makes me better at posting TBH.

It helps, of course, that I'm someone of few pleasures. I couldn't really care less for something if it doesn't involve: working (for which I'm paid, or will be graded); gymming it up; using my computer; watching or talking about cricket; or having a drink or six (out or in) with my mates and some good music. As long as I've got those (and I have, and always have had, and am unlikely to not do any time in the immediate future) my life could not be more enjoyable and as I say, I couldn't care less for doing anything else.
Obviously a fan of Maslow's hierachy of needs then, are you on that self-actualisation bit then... top of the pyramid...

You are aware of most people on this forum's attitudes to over-use of this smiley, aren't you?

It was a dismal failure at attempting to patronise... apart from that, you might be right.

As I've said, I really can't be bothered thinking of dumbed-down terms. What, incidentally, is so dramatic about "cast aspersions"? It's a pretty basic English term that you'll find in many, many places. If you've a decent grasp of vocabulary, that is.

If you're using a standard such as BMI to classify that, I am sure you will find a great deal of athletes are, in fact, "overweight".
Just a comment from one of the NZ coaches. If you think about it, a lot of them have a bit of a spare tire.

IMO the only thing that photo proves is that Fulton is/was fat.

On the subject, apparently 12 out of the 14 Black Caps are overweight officially. Interesting.
If you're using a BMI of 25 as the standard I'm not really surprised

Money on Guptill and Elliott as the two who aren't btw

Haha, haven't heard that term since the days of stage 1 economics, so much for these theories been relevant in real life :kwasny:

I'd like to nominate Ishant Sharma as

(a) possibly the tallest regular international cricketer atm (similar height to Oram imo, 6'6" or maybe even a tad more)

(b) the most under-listed sportsperson EVER.

His listed height is 6'3 1/2 or 192cm. However, he is several inches taller than the likes of James Franklin and Kyle Mills who are both over 6'4". He must be the only sportsperson I've ever seen listed 3 inches below their real height. Maybe he had a late growth spurt like Daniel Vettori?

Surely the Big Bird takes this prize? Wasn't he like 6'10" - 7'?

I remember as a kid seeing Alex Tudor and thinking he was an actual giant.

That fool Harmison's pretty damn big, as is Morne Morkel. Chris Tremlett just looks unnatural, VRV singh for India always looked pretty tall (pretty weird too mind, the face of an 8 year old), I know RP Singh is about 6'4". Michael Mason, how tall is he?

I reckon Mason is in the 6'4" to 6'5" range.

Tremlett is the tallest international cricketer atm I'm pretty sure, it's just whether or not you classify him as a current international cricketer

Morkel is apparently taller than Oram but I'd be interested in seeing them face to face

I remember last time India toured NZ there was this great image of Oram walking past Parthiv Patel, they looked like 2 different species!

Ok not quite an international payer hell not even a FC cricketer one of those many cases in Pakistan where a cricketer is seen playing on the streets coaches get impressed and fast track him in to national setup. Aaqib Javaid believes he could be playing int cricket in next 24 months. Here he is standing with Asif who is listed 6' 3"

Harmison isn't all that tall. 6'4" I think. But he has high shoulders which means his delivery point is equivalent to that of a much taller bowler. Which is where he gets his bounce from when he's not bowling like a stoned muppet.

Some very tall cricketers. I will only count 6ft 6 and above because there are plenty of cricketers who fall into the 6ft 4 - 6ft 5 category.

Here are a few who a very tall

Zoyza (SL) 6ft 7in
Tinu Youhannan (IND) 6 6
Harris (SA) 6 6
M Morkel (SA) 6 7
Jo Angel (Aus) 6 6
Oram (NZ) 6 6
Moody (Aus) 6 7
Benn (WI) 6 8
Sammy (WI) 6 6
McGrath (Aus) 6 6
William Jefferson (ENG) 6 10
Tim Munton (ENG) 6 7

There are quite a few more, especially fast bowlers who play in FC cricket.
There are couple of fast bowlers in England county circuit who are 6ft 8in, one is quite highly regarded and plays for Middlesex.
