Sarwan seems to be accelerating his scoring now, bypassed Chanderpaul and giving some tap to Jaya.

Chanderpaul replies by hitting Murali for the maximum. Although, the run rate is coming up to 11 now. Only solace is that both men are well and truly 'set'- Scrap that thought.

Chanderpaul's now going down swinging. Also brings up his fifty with that slog sweep six.
dont think it will be enough though....just switched on...why were they not going 4 it a lot earlier...surely u cant let the run rate climb like this!

it would have been a good 20/20 target with the situation right now but still would be challenging plus they don't have the wickets in hand that they would when starting it in a 20/20...man sri lanka you suck party poopers :p

Samuels goes. Murali too good for him.

Suppose it's good news for us Poms, if nothing else.
It is, the more teams out of the reckoning the better. Although, considering how well we played the Irish 'spinner' I do worry about us facing Murali. I have nightmares concerning mistimed sweeps.

 @ Dwayne Smith. Wanted him to stick around and face Murali, no matter how short such a contest would be. Took the best option and ran himself out.

they are going to have too much of a bad run rate to make it to the semis even if they win the rest matches...which isn't likely for the WIs and how they are playing...

Chanderpaul's 50 took 94 balls (he went to 54 with a 6), but 22 of those came off four balls - by my reckoning that means he's played at least 58 dot balls. That with his team needing more than a run a ball. Worse than Kallis's effort against Australia.

Chanderpaul is doing some favours (for net run rate) hitting Murali for some tasty sixes but the margin of defeat could still be over 100 runs, unless Ramdin decides he wants to hang around.

It won't be great for the run rate if they finish 100+ short here, as is looking likely.
