Raghav, Flintoff batting in middle-order has been dire, so i can't understand what you are talking about.

EDIT: Bell gone the pressure finally got to him

Horrible, horrible shot from Bell. Indicative of England's ODI batting really - they don't seem to have any planning at all about what they are doing. I could see some sense in the cautious start, but not if they're going to follow it up with dire shots like that.

In the first 6 overs, the Proteas have bowled 3 maidens. And of the 36 balls faced by the English openers till the 6th over, 33 had been dot balls.

Flintoff would be hopeless against this swinging ball, he'd end up giving the cordon some catching practice. At least with Strauss in now, he should be able to cover the swing and survive. Can't be long before Vaughan actually gets an edge on one.

Still...would u want Flintoff to come and gift the wicket now...If he is not good at middle...I dont think he can bat now,,with the ball doing much...This is what I am talking

It was the perfect bouncer. Really got big on him and Lang prob knew he would go for it,
I actually thought the ball was pretty average, would've been put away to the point boundary if the batsman chose the correct stroke to place. Wasn't short enough for a bouncer, but wasn't really wide enough for the full blooded cut either.

England looking cool, calm and collected as always.

What a joke. High expectations of Strauss here.

Sick of England's batting. They don't take risks to score quicker but they still manage to regularly gift wickets with rubbish shots.

I think we need a new coach... even if its a one day coach.. because I am not sure England know what they are doing mentally.

Can anyone name players who have a bigger difference in their Test and ODI abilities than Strauss and Vaughan?

I can't

EDIT - Hoggy maybe. Nuff said.

Vaughan dont have 100 to his name in his ODI career but have 100 on the back of his shirt...

He should get that on to his carrer sheets
