iirc Chappell had a wonderful 112 out of 218 vs Underwood (6/66) in England in ‘77. Underwood in England? Easily as big of a test any of the quartet.

A big but a quite different test. All the 3 prominent members were vastly different in style to Underwood, and the first 2 just as good as him.

I never said Chappell wasn't a proper player of spin, he was an absolute gun to them; I said imo Gavaskar was a better one. And that definitely doesn't means I won't hold a challenge he skipped against him on the basis he "could had aced it".
