Shoot peer review, Amarnath in WI 83 is the best batting series by any Indian Ever, and it wasn't even a one off. Had he batted half as well in India as he did away, he will be a legit contender for a Top 20 spot.
Averaging 30 in flat home conditions is definitely an off beat for Amarnath.

Comeon Now!! Border is better than Chappell. Exceptional away record, significantly longer career and pulled a weakling team to numerous draws and victories they had no right to otherwise. Iconic innings, iconic series, beats Greg at most things.

Chappell is better at home and the West Indies, makes 6 runs more every inning too, batted higher and is universally seen as the better Batsmen.

Border in 1984 WI is better than anything Chappell ever dreamt of doing. He toured a quite weak WI in Tests, WSC should be rated separately. The only strong country his away Test record can be taken at face value is England, and 40 is quite moderate given reputation; Border did 64. Border also played for 5 more years and almost double the games. And last but not least, peer ratings sucks ass.

@capt_Luffy Honestly, it feels more like you're asking me to downgrade Chappell than asking me to upgrade Border..
Border is 15th for me, firmly ahead of the 2000s bunch and Chappell. Just look at his away record. Not just averages, in places were it looks rather alright like WI, he has a tour like 1984.

The term used before, Fair-Weather Batsmen is something very applicable to Border, but I'll go one step ahead and call him what he was, a featherbed specialist. Harvey > Border
