Johan

Cricketer Of The Year
Round 1 – Ricky Ponting
Round 2 – Joe Root
Round 3 – Greg Chappell
Round 4 – Walter Hammond
Round 5 – Steve Smith

Which ones (comparisons) does he win and which ones does he lose? Yes, I'm very bored

Well at least you didn’t make it a bowling gauntlet. (not a suggestion.)

He loses at round 4 for me, though I can see the arguments for the last two.

I don't get how this is a gauntlet and not 5 separate matchups bro

@Coronis What argument does Sunny have over Smith?
note: I do not think Gavaskar is better than Smith

Arguments I could see in his favour - Longevity, opener, Smith’s friendly home batting tracks during his peak. Also has a well balanced record like Smith’s. Scored tons against Hadlee, Imran, Marshall, Roberts, Garner, Holding etc.

If there’s more someone can feel free to chime in, but those are some arguments I would expect to hear.

1. Opener? Yes

2. During his peak, Smith was clearly the best in away conditions as well

3. Sunny’s biggest plus is he scored many 100s against great fast bowlers. He scored 10 centuries against them and all of them in a span of 7-8 years.
