Stumped!

My DEV match is probably the closest rn, 76/3 but finally with the acknowledged batsmen in as I put some allrounders and allrounders in training up top. Both cnerd and Stephen don't seem to have enough runs on the board
When you’ve dropped 5 catches and missed a stumping you never have enough runs.

Another terrible loss for the MTOs. Another poor fielding display. Not unhappy with batting overall. Bowling was not bad. But if you don’t take you catches you will lose.

Rough collapse here too...needed 36 off 38 with five wickets in hand, then my makeshift captain Jeganathan got out, and well, one-brought-five.

Wouldn't be too unhappy with relegation in DEV anyway tbh, the 19-20 yos I recruited at the start are probably ready to graduate to senior games anyway.

The GG machine continues to motor on.

Decent knocks from Levy (45), Cornelius Human (71), and Rian de Villiers (68) propelled GG CC to 241 for 8 in their allotted 40 overs. And then a combined effort with the with you restrict Prasanth CC to 162 all out. Peter Sutherland led the way with 4 for 43, 2 wickets apiece for Kasun Obeysekere and Cornelius Human.

In order to get Mooo going, I have sacked Tom Toogood as captain, since he is relied upon for his batting and bowling…the new captain for Moooo’s ? DEV team is 18 year old Naeem Karim.

Karim is set to make his debut for Mooo CC

24 unbeaten runs by the last wicket pair ensure Moooo losing their first DEv game of the season. It was another disappointing performance by the batsmen.

The bowlers bowled their hearts out in defense of the paltry total. Just needed that last wicket.

Both ZCC and FHK started their Dev campaigns yesterday.

In EurAfrica Div 2 ZCC (rating 41K) won the toss and elected to bat first on a flat pitch vs South Farthing CC (46k). Mission #RunsOnTheBoard got off to a disastrous start - 11/3 and then 30/4, with both Grubs and Ahsan dismissed cheaply. However Stuart 'best batter in the team' Garner compiled 78 off 96 balls, and found an unlikely partner in Ed Halliday, who scored his first ever fifty coming in at 6! The big-hitting bruiser knuckled down and scored 60 off 54 balls, adding 127 runs with Garner. This partnership was the backbone of our final score of 189/8. Good innings from an IGT point of view, as everyone except the number 11 got a bat. Really pleased to see Halliday score some serious runs under pressure as well.

The bowling effort was good, but perhaps we just didn't have enough runs on the board. The in-form Taufeeq Bashir took 2/28 in his 6 overs and scored a run-out as well. The quality of his bowling suggests it may have been a mistake to not give him his whole quota. Lickley, Ahsan and Chester were economical, but Ramalingam went for runs despite bowling quite well. We took regular wickets, and at 178/7 the tail was exposed and we had a slight chance of an upset win, but it wasn't to be. Their numbers 8 and 9 finished the chase with 3 overs to spare. We'll be ruing a missed chance in the infield that went for 4 to level the scores - perhaps we'll keep more attacking fields for Ramalingam's death overs in the future. Good fielding innings for IGT too, and we did well enough to earn 1 point out of the game.

Then we move onto Americas Div 3, where FHK (44k) won the toss and elected to bat first at home as well, against Rochoppers CC (46k). Bit worrying how two Div 3 sides are outrating ZCC now! Last season these two teams split the games 1-1, each of us winning on home turf. FHK's #RunsOnTheBoard plan got off to a shaky start too, with both Tiffany and Agnes dismissed with only 13 on the board. But Nathan Law (59 off 44) launched a counter attack, while Tony Chung (92 off 110) stabilized the innings. The two most talented batters in the side are in good form, and thank goodness for that. We ended with a healthy 213/7 in our 40 overs. We started really well in the defence, reducing them to 52/5, but that's when Aart Labuschagne played the innings off his life. He had some good support from the lower order, and together they started to take the game away from us. Lester Shum and Ted Hui broke two important partnerships, and then Lai O Yin nabbed 2 wickets in 2 balls to reduce them to 181/9. But their number 11 hit a 6 en-route to 15 off 17 balls, and it all came down to 5 runs needed off 6 balls. I present to you the over in full:

This over will be by Joshua Wong, Ted Hui has set a defensive field with a ring of 4 infielders, leaving 5 in the deep. Nobody in close.
39.11Joshua Wong to Gaganjot Chhugani145.8 kphIn Gap! Plenty of width offered by that delivery, Chhugani goes agricultural. Terrible timing sends it into the circle. But no-one's there. Chhugani making the single easy.
39.22Joshua Wong to Aart Labuschagne149.0 kphBowled on middle stump line, controlled aggression by Labuschagne. Scooped over Chung towards fine leg. Shum gathers and returns, the batsmen jog back for a second. He doesn't seem to be reading it well here.
Aart Labuschagne shows the first signs of tiredness, he wipes his brow and grimaces.
39.3WJoshua Wong to Aart Labuschagne139.0 kphGOT HIM! Ball for leg stump, Labuschagne risks the big shot. That was mistimed and has gone way, way up, O Yin is sprinting round to claim it. O Yin just about clings on, well held. He clearly changed his mind mid-shot there, he may have been better off sticking with it, couldn't have been worse.
With that wicket they win the match.
Aart Labuschagne is out for 73 from 80 balls.
Free HK win by 1 runs.

Absolute humdinger of a game. Joshua Wong with a clever change of pace and 'Iceman' Lai O Yin with the clutch catch. Commiserations to Rockhoppers CC. Huge win to jump start or promotion campaign.

Aryan Punnoose going for just 2 million is an absolute bargain. I'd have bid on him if I had the cash. 52 bowling pot, 39 batting pot, 14 stamina and 12 fielding. Quick Runner and Erratic talents.

What's working against him is that he is 18 years and 12 weeks old and quite low on where his actual skills should be (6 batting and 25 bowling). He has only played 1 Dev game in his career so far and didn't bowl in it. Categorized as a right arm medium pacer but might be on the slower end.

Even then I think he's a gun and could be a legendary club cricket + successful international one if he goes to a club that can give him coaching and plenty of game time. Great name too.

You've almost tempted me but those starting skills are too far away I think...best case is he ends up low 40 bowl skill and low 30 bat skill

you've still described a player that is Nat quality and will be invaluable at club level. Plus he can field and has good stamina for an AR. And look at how balanced those skill distributions are! :p

He was recruited on 16th sept 2020 by the club that is now selling him, so a massive waste of talent tbh.
