bit raw for his age but good prospect. Already good enough to win Dev games, which in of itself is useful for a side that lacks strength there. Bowls 138kmph max, not far from a proper fastie. High stamina, high fielding with safe hands, good attacking batting with supporting skills for lower/middle order, and accurate so can hold up an end (especially with pace).
I mean seriously this man is worth a million? I now he has the extra attributes but still...
I paid $250K just over a year ago for these three...bit raw for his age but good prospect. Already good enough to win Dev games, which in of itself is useful for a side that lacks strength there. Yea a mill seems okay. Needs to be coached up to around 38 bowling and 34 batting and can do a job, good core player for a side to build around.
How many of us are there in CWC --- 8 ? 9? How many of them have already involved themselves in running a CWC ? I guess if none of those folk don't want to do so again it then leaves those who don't want to but havent yet done so too put up their hands - which of us is that?Yea some good feedback.
I think we definitely need a structure without bots, and that also puts main and affiliate teams in different groups whilst still having two (or more) equally strong groups. Let's see how many teams sign up first and then decide.
I was going to suggest a deadline within which to schedule the KO stage matches, but people have RL commitments and I didn't want them to feel pressured or burdened. Maybe in CWC6 we'll put a fairly reasonable deadline in place (2 weeks?) and see how that goes.
I quite liked the seeding matches myself tbh. Been swamped with work lately but wanted to update the final standings and do a whole tournament review at the end! I think it also looks good in historical records - very important for me that ZCC nabbed 3rd place and that FHK took home the plate championship
I also like the eliminator system because it gives top-seeded teams two cracks at the Final, rather than just 1 shot that you get with traditional Semi-Final / Final system. Even if we do a Top 4 rather than Top 3, I'd want to adopt the IPL style play-off system (1 vs 2 in Eliminator 1, 3 vs 4 in Play-off, then Loser of 1v2 against winner of 3v4 in Eliminator 2, winner of both Eliminators in the Final). Have to reward the teams that top the league stage with something, otherwise effectively there's no difference between finishing 1st and 4th.
Finally - who wants to take the lead in putting together CWC6? @ataraxia @JOJOXI @Charlie B ? I'm happy to support again. I'm also in no rush to get this started given RL work burden atm + my Dev teams suck and need more time to develop
It is a shame mate - as it should be the Top Tier of Stumped where the experienced, engaged and skilled managers like yourself naturally gravitate to play a new and higher level of the game. That is notwithstanding all the effort that you and others involved in the NAT game have put into it in terms of logistics, trawling and management communication. It's a shame international cricket on Stumped is dead atm. Raun's best years are going to waste.
I'd push for it on the forums but frankly the work that would need to go into updating my database for selecting a new squad is daunting
Either by accident or design I think you have reached the conclusion of some of mankind's greatest philosophers! namely that which cannot be controlled is not to be worried about and one should engage in following the theory of the 3 wise monkeys or the happy pig!I'm happy as long as the game is still up and relatively stable in user numbers tbh. It's such a wonderful game anyway, and ofc if the Devs cannot attend to it then so be it.
