Stumped!

AXI off to a bright start vs ZCC today. Won the toss and are batting first, have found the fence a few times early one. Bit of luck tho - LBW appeal turned down, edge through a gap for 4.

Not much of a pitch for new-ball wickets, but I'd back this pace attack to extract at least one or two in the powerplay. Especially keep to see how Tim Chester bowls, has a big job on this surface.

Freddy Law's two overs have been more of a liability than Jalal Farhat's new-ball spell!

AXI 55/3 after the powerplay. Former SA nat offspinner Giddings broke a brisk 30-run opening partnership, Sajith scored a run-out, and Jalal broke through Rusty Frost's defences in his 2nd spell. Ramalingam continuing his good day of cricket - 4 overs for just 9 so far.

So I put my keeper on the market... see how it goes? No minimum!

Surprised Hetal only bowled 5 overs that innings. Enough time for him to nab 4/13.

Meanwhile AXI 64/4 in 20. Tim Chester sent back young Shawn Dee, a big rescue act needed now from Clift and Murdoch.

I've got the ball rolling with a first bid but don't think I'll be much more than just part of the early bidding process

Nicky Clift battled hard for AXI with 71* off 105 balls, but they could only muster 176 a/o in 46.1 overs. Tim Chester had a good outing with 5-2-13-3, with Jalal, Yiu and Giddings taking 2 apiece as well.

ZCC strolled to a comfortable 7 wicket win, mainly thanks to 141-run 2nd wicket partnership between Shahbaz Furqan (87 off 82) and Raun Shkorer (61 off 63).

Big ratings gap (56k Vs 44k) between the sides, might try to rest Luke Giddings for the next game between the teams.

My second friendly match against The Merry Orangutans starts in a few minutes time. I will be hoping for a more improved performance from my guys...bought a guy from the market just a few hours ago and will be banking on him to make inroads.
