Stumped!

Hi Guys

I know it doesn't matter a gnat's spit but (and if I asked this before I apologise) does anyone know who is who in the Expert Preview

Is Top 1-3, Middle 4 -7 and Tail 8 -11 ( it would just help my enjoyment of a live game when you are hoping to take wickets to know when the opposition is going to drop to its middle rating or tail rating!

Thanks

I’d go with this as well!

I look at players in terms of how they can play a specific role more than their overall skill. A 48 skill bat may not be as good an option to open the innings as a 42 skill one. Raun often bats as low as 4/5 because of his low stamina + high attacking skill.

In T20s you probably want your best guns out there early tho. In Dev you should try bat your higher pot guys up top to max out IGT. Don't want them to be one the bench when your weaker bats finish a low run chase.

Jayant Nagin is killing us, urgh. Why did I start watching.
That is interesting, I cannot say I've ever considered stamina but that would certainly make sense - you want people who can bat through the innings both technically as well as be physically capable of doing so

For SOD, 3/4; for DEV, 3. For T20, it depends more heavily than the other two.

But yeah *checks notes* my best SOD bat ATM bats 5, best Dev bat opens, and best T20 bat is shuffled around the place. It simply depends. I don't really take into account batting aggression though, as that can be offset by more defensive/aggressive orders for that bat. Traits, the conditions, the rest of the batting lineup, and especially skill distributions are important for me.
Okay my thought re batting aggression is someone like Minesh Rana who is defiant as an extreme example might not be suited to getting quick runs at 6/7 even if told to attack - he only really plays at 5 if I have my 2 openers and number 3 set to attack - but might be worth me actually testing that out a bit more. Think I could pay more attention to skills distributions as opposed to batting aggression either way though.

I'm very much in the best bat at 4/5 for what it's worth

The youths of Moo and GG are doing battle again. GG are batting first and after 25 overs have lost half of their side for 101..

Captain Gul gets captain Sutherland once again. Robin Oxley is hanging on there...with him is the ever-reliable 'keeper', Arie Fouche. With 15 overs to go, they should look for a score somewhere around 200.

Fairly decent wear on the wicket...batting second might be a challenge for the young calves.

64 runs added in the last 10 overs sees GG CC ending on 182/8

Robin Oxley played a superb knock under pressure; his 70 off 97 was valuable...the next best score being 30 from Fouche.

Vethanayagam finished with 4 for 41; his death bowling skills proved to be effective as he took 3 of his 4 wickets in the death overs. Chaten Kurupath with 2 for 27 off his 8 overs, and captain Gul with 2 for 36 off his 8...

I feel that it's a below par score. Mooo will knock these runs off with 8 overs to spare ;)

Danial Ahsan hit his first ever T20 league fifty for us - 79 off 57 opening the batting, and captaining the side to a 7 run win. Big moment for the 22 year old, hope he can sustain this. This came right after his 74* off 53 vs GG CC in a T20 on Tuesday night.

FHK pulled off a fantastic T20 league win too, so hopefully we can stave off relegation.

Takaedza Nyawo gets the breakthrough for GG CC...the opening partnership for Mooo was threatening. 33 added in 4.5 overs.

For GG to win, they'll have to bowl out Moo. The spinner, Ishmail, will have a lot of work to do here.

Two quick wickets for GG...it's gonna get tricky now for Moo since the very green Hamid comes in to join the experienced Berstein...

Still, a lot of runs to get.

80 required in 132 balls
