What’s the lowest base skill in your current strongest XIs?
Morpork: 32/32 allrounder (8 defense), or the 34 bowler with 20 XP (got a lot of bowlers with 9 variation)
Schmaltzberg: 30 bowler (but well rounded, so the lowest skill is 7 shot selection on a #6 hitter)

In SOD Shawn Dee 32 bat skill or Liam Kotze 32 bowl skill (both popped this week)
Or in T20 Rusty Frost 30/29 bat/bowl.

For Mooo: Aat Bernstein with a batting pot of 35, Gulshan Giridhar with a pot of 34 in bowling

For GG CC: Ernst Levy with a batting pot of 32 (his current skill with the bat adds up to 30)...his experience of 20 is very valuable to the team...in the bowling department, it's Mark Jardine currently with a skill level of 29 over 34Pot.

Just coming on here now after noticing the same thing, intrigued to see how things go!
Yup, you're also playing the exact same (bot) team I played for my first competitive fixture, somewhat interestingly. I remember I lost by 1 wicket...

Hopefully can avoid that outcome today! Guess there is the added advantage of this being an affiliate team so having gone through the process once already.

Keeping wickets in the tank at this stage 41/0 after 9.4

Was higher a few weeks ago but with overhaul its probably Luqe at Winton with 25 bowling although Cracknell at 15 bowling has played a lot in his opening week and a bit but that is mostly for development - he doesn't get into the strongest XI on current ability.

Shaukat at 19 batting is the weakest at his base skill in the first match (excluding tutorialish friendly) for the affiliate side.

Apologies if this is a dense question but what's the best way to train players in this game? I just signed up to check it out, only interested in training up homegrown guys. This was my first pull. So how should I go about training him? Looks like he could be a decent WK-Bat but should I train his keeping since it's 0 or batting first? I guess I should be playing him in every game as a keeper?

GG just couldn't fire today. The batting was a bit timid. Bram Human raced to a half-century and then immediately got out. Mark Jardine was promoted to bat at number 3 and he made a cautious 69 off 100+ balls. Fouche and Obeysekere hung around to take the total close to 250...but at the halfway stage, you'd known that they were probably 20-35 runs short.

Venka-warriors raced to the target in the 41st over, on the back of a 153-run opening partnership, which was just enough the demoralize the GG lads.

I Hope Mooo gives us a win today.

Hello Number 11,

Others have more knowledge than me so if they contradict me its probably best to listen to them. But if you have no other good keeping options then playing him as a keeper will improve his skill quicker - as will training him in his keeping. Although with 0 keeping at the moment he may well concede a lot of byes/wides early on. Hiring decent coaches and using them to coach his batting/keeping will also help but be careful to look at the wages if you do buy coaches in the transfer market as the best ones will be way too expensive for you.

We are going to start a Cricket Web Championships Season 4 soon if you are interested as well. Once you get to grips with interface I would be happy to play you in a friendly - I have just started a 2nd affiliate team called JoJo so my squad won't be too much stronger than yours and others I'm sure will be happy to play weakened sides in friendlies v you as well.

Is there an option to put him on the market?

I have a guy with 20 potential in keeping. I have been training him in keeping and playing him against weaker sides...he's up to a skill level of 10 in keeping already...and he's still young.

Your guy looks more like a batsman first...who can do part-time keeping.

It sounds like he's interested in creating a solely homegrown side so arguably less upside to selling one of his best players this early if he isn't going to replace him in the market would be my thinking?

What did your guy start as in keeping if you happen to remember?

Now that I've checked his history in training. He started with a 9, and now he's up to 11...He hardly gets to bat though...because I hide him all the way down the order at number 11

Very nice player. Generally wicketkeeping skill increases quickly enough that training shouldn't be necessary, and with all that potential in shot selection you should be fairly safe training him in shot selection. Letting him have the gloves in one DEV game and one senior game per week should see him reach 16-17 keeping skill by the time he turns 21.

Very good player, should probably get to play National cricket. I'll defer to others with regards to training; but in terms of playing, have him keep in all Dev matches and against bots in senior matches. If there's a better short-term keeping option then you might want to play him as a specialist bat without the gloves in senior games against humans.

Getting him to score a century in the tutorial friendly is pretty spectacular! You may find yourself a bit bored because you will be playing lots of bots, so I've sent out a friendly request. And it would be cool to have you play in CWC4 as well.
