ata vs Stephen equally intriguing, Passmore appears to have recovered from the tap he got yesterday and 144 is just about that tasty target

Man, Cricket, and Davey with some opening partnership. 120 so far...setting the platform for the other guys to come. Wickets in hand are big in this chase.

International Coach
Good to see that my team can still hit quality runs. Incredible stuff from Jan du Preez, 128 (110). He's pushing his case in the last week of the season to be the HoF inductee. Quality stuff from Shaffrey with 57 (61) to push his run tally in Ashgrove-AXI matches to 502, the highest of anyone. Ghous Saadi hit a classic Saadi knock: 44 (81) in his return to the senior side. 283-7, good stuff.

However, the Ashgrove top 4 was just too good, hitting four fifties to power to 255-2. The incredible chase was completed soon after, with 6 wickets and 27 deliveries remaining. Stars were Alex Davey hitting 85 (91) after 1-26 (7), and Eachann Evans hitting 72* (54). In 17 out of 19 games between the two sides it was won by the team who bowled first.

Notable performances by GG players today:

-16 year old Ahsan Hafeez, batting at number four…taking over the spot vacated by Cornelius Human, he made 30 off 47 balls. Then came with the ball and grabbed 3 wickets for 26 runs.

-Peter Sutherland playing in his 50th DEV match, made a glamorous 77* off 48 balls. He struck 7 fours and 4 sixes. His bowling was crap…went for 20 off two overs. He is 11 runs shy of reaching the landmark of 1000 runs in DEV cricket

Was a bit worried when my league winning DEV opponent got to 38/0 off the first six overs. Then

Kevin Boon is out for 31 from 30 balls, Rungano Mvubu will replace him.

FHK stumbled on the final hurdle in the Dev. Had to win at home against a weaker human team in order to promote, but collapsed in a simple chase on a flat deck. Extremely disappointing. Did so badly we dropped from 1st to 3rd. Another season of bot bashing in store for us in the Dev, and with relegation certain in the SOD, we better win and stay up in the T20 tomorrow. That would give us something to focus on whilst bot-bashing in the other two leagues.

ZCC finish 3rd place, which is exceeding expectations really. Happy to stay in Div 2 for another season. I think we can settle here without really ever needing to push for promotion. The T20 is where it's exciting, with Jan CC and I both pushing for promotion tomorrow. Hope we can pull off the win and return to Div 1. We've locked up a spot in SOD Div 2 for next season promotion is out of reach right now, so might be a good chance to get some experience into a few of the youngsters.

ZCC and FHK will be playing a series of 2nd XI friendlies next week. Both squads are a bit bloated, in preparation for a strong cup run, so we'll be looking to give the bench strength a run. If anyone would like to take on our First XIs on these days then drop us a challenge!

Valiant effort by the FHK boys, but down to Div 3 we go. Clinical allround performance at home to win with a bonus point, but unfortunately we also needed other results to go our way and they didn't. Finished in 6th place, just 1 point behind 7th and 3 points behind 4th!

Div 3 in all formats for FHK next season. Good thing about being a home-grown side is we've got $5.7 million in the bank, so we should be able to sustain the squad + keep working on our coaches. Aim for a strong Cup run and a return to Div 2 in at least one of the 3 formats.

From 38 for 6 to 113 for 6, this has been a superb fightback from the pair of Tsungirai Meyiwa and skipper Tom Toogood. Babar Ijaz rocked the top order of Moooo, taking 2 wickets in the first over.
