So what effects run outs... I am frequently in situations where my best batsmen are getting run out at important times of innings. Am I setting something that makes this a higher chance of happening?

Good round of games in the CWC3 last night. I was busy so missed the games live, but glad to see ZCC and FHK come out with wins

Dynamo Morpork continue their dominance this season, picking up their 7th win on the trot and smashing TMO for the highest score of the CWC3 so far! Fouche and Van Heerdens doing the damage, and the 2nd innings was a bit of a formality as a result.

Jura CC rebounded well from their loss last weekend to thump a dangerous Ashgrove Astronauts team by 111 runs. The Astronauts had some eye-catching performances in the week leading up to this game, but ultimately outclassed by the CW newcomers.

GG CC edged past Moooo by just 26 runs, in a low scoring match on an unusually bowler-friendly GG CC CG wicket. A spirited effort by the young calves, at 81/2 they would have been optimistic for a win, but the classic Dev Collapse set in and they fell well short in the end.

Danial Ahsan lead from the front with an excellent all-round performance to take ZCC to their 5th CWC3 win. Winning the toss was key at the seamer-friendly WCC CG, and we did that and restricted them to a chaseable score. Lost a few early wickets, but got there easily in the end. Good win.

FHK dominated in home conditions, putting on the kid of performance I wish we could repeat in our league fixtures! Nathan Law hit a good 69*, and Andy Li his first ever career 50, to take us past 200. The bowlers then stuck to their task, the fielders took their catches (5 for keeper Chung!) and we wrapped up a comfortable 52 run win.

And last, but definitely not least, the upset of the round! @honestbharani's Honest Hunks keep reeling these off, this time chasing down 240 to beat Dynamo Schmaltzberg at home. The Hunks rated 32K to Schmaltzberg's 35k, and had the advantage of both home conditions and winning the toss. Shanuka Kurusumuttu carried his bat for Schmaltzberg, but ended just 6 short of a well deserved century. His 94* off 110 was the backbone of the visitor's 239/6, scored in conditions that had plenty of assistance for the new ball bowlers, but would then be brilliant to bat on by the 2nd half of the chase.
The Hunks negotiated the first half of the game rather poorly. Skipper Chunky Kuttikkad (renowned for his useful offspin, troll lower order batting, and fabulous name) opened the batting and made 30, but was 3rd man dismissed with the score at just 76 in 14 overs. Nalin Mittur was on 26 off 16 at that moment, and would go on to play the innings of his CWC career. The dynamic allrounder had taken 2/30 in the first innings, but was to outdo himself with the bat, hammering 92 off just 69 balls. He threw away his wicket, and a CWC century, with just 40 needed in the last 10 overs, and the Hunks completed the job from there. Magical knock.

Bowling Spell of the Round: Danial Ahsan's match-winning 4/21 for ZCC vs WCC. Honourable mention: Tauseef Nazir (Moooo) 4/21 in a losing cause.
Batting Innings of the Round: Easily Nalin Mittur of HH. Shout out to Shanuka Kurusumuttu for DynamoS in the same game, and Van Heerdens 83 off 47 for DynamoM vs TMO.

We are around 1/3rd of the way through CWC3, and the Top 4 are starting to pull away from the rest of the pack. GG CC and ataraXIa round off the Top 6, with Mooo and Honest Hunks dead even on their heels. The rest are yet to really find their feet, but are all very capable teams. Going to be interesting to follow their games next week:

Astronauts vs TMO, Schmaltzberg vs GG CC and WCC vs FHK the games to watch IMO.

the same thing that effects other wickets - run rate pressure, low experience, good fielding. Quick Runners and Bullet Arms can have a big impact. Apparently good captaincy does too.

The balance in Stumped is slightly askew when it comes to run-outs. There have been stats worked out to show the % of runouts in stumped is greater than it is IRL. Just a part of the game you can't really work around.

I also notice that run outs are almost always of the none striker? Because I wondered if the low experience part comes from the striker and it would make more sense as to why my more experienced better players seem to get run out more often?

yea good shout actually.

another thing that's missing in this engine, and I think Magz mentioned it before, is the lack of strike farming from senior/settled batsmen. Something that makes them less willing to take a singles on the first ball and last ball of an over when batting with someone rubbish.

I figure these things are really hard to code into a simulated game. BT doesn't have it, and I think FTP doesn't either but I'm not sure. Just gotta accept it as part of the game and try to win games despite it.

27.24Jeroen Viljoen to Kamal Azam139.7 kphEDGED! Boundary! Ball just going down leg, Azam pushes with the intent to beat the field. He just nicks it, Mthombeni gets a chance. The despairing dive isn't enough to take the catch, or stop the boundary, FOUR. Wasn't enough to avoid Kock's wrath either.

Kock not in a good mood after getting run out earlier in the day.

Well done to @Marcuss and the Astronauts. Good win.

Disappointing loss for the TMOs . The run outs probably cost the 200+ target which was needed on that pitch. Combined with the continued disappointing fielding. Burger also turning into a most unlucky player, once again bowled a high quality spell with no luck. Overall bowling was good, just could not do it all by themselves.

Big match against the Woodpeckers in the Cup later but not expecting much... just hope to put up a decent performance.

ZCC near full-strength for tonight's cup game. Only change is Jamal Madani in for Heshan de Mehlo behind the stumps. Openers have given us a great start after we were sent in to bat first at home, here's hoping for a big score with plenty of IGT and then a solid bowling performance.

417/5 in our 50 overs.

Should have pushed Madani higher up the order, I'm disappointed he didn't get a bat. Let's hope these guys play out their 50 overs!

Couple of losses in the CWC and the Cup is disappointing but not unexpected. A 126-run partnership between the in-touch duo Jan du Preez (67 off 97) and Shawn Dee (75 off 105). Kurt Murdoch performed well in his role as finisher, 45* (31). Good signs for Dee and Murdoch performing against a quality opposition. But hey 234 didn't turn out to be enough even on a tough pitch, as the 10th best team in the world chased the target down by 7 wickets with a 50K team.

Scraped my way through to 150 in my Dev match. It's against my sole opponent for promotion on a very tough pitch. 150 will hopefully be enough; my bowling lineup is pretty good. Wicket in the first over for Ludlow.
