Very little, I should imagine, unless these blokes are suggesting they feared for their lives.according to Michael Vaughan, the guys Stokes was allegedly defending have come forwards
No idea what material difference it makes, but there you go
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/47843...ter-defending-them-from-homophobic-thugs/amp/“If you ever see fights you let it pass. It’s just Bristol town. You see it every night you go out.”
Good ****ing god what's wrong with that guy's face?
Stokes was born in Christchurch.Good ****ing god what's wrong with that guy's face?
This is the sentence that could save Stokes and give him only a rap across the knuckles. The fact they just wandered off when the fight got scary and did not even say thank you to Stokes for saving them is a bit dodgy?"We were so grateful to Ben for stepping in to help. He was a real hero. Kai feared he could be attacked. If Ben hadn't intervened it could have been a lot worse for us."
Will be a great shame if we end up having to blame losing the Ashes on a couple of chicken burgers and some cheesy chipsHmm that article from The Scum is one big wtf
Anyway, can we get this finished with and send Stokes down under now?
So many questions still exist in my opinion. Why did they take so long to come forward? Why did the Sun not show the full video in the first place? This is the sentence that could save Stokes and give him only a rap across the knuckles. Doesn't sound like they came forward. So many questions still exist in my opinion. Why did they take so long to come forward? Why did the Sun not show the full video in the first place?
I've never seen such stuff either, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen regular in certain areas. This certainly does not happen every day in every city in Britain! I have lived in Britain for over 30 years including several years in three major cities and I've only ever seen such incidents with my own eyes a couple of times in my life. S. Kennedy makes very rare, exceptional incidents sound like an every day event! Perhaps these events do occur every weekend where he lives (he would know better than me of course), but he really should not generalise his experiences across the rest of the country.
Yeah, I don't doubt this goes on regularly in certain areas. My point was S.Kennedy has used his own narrow experience to imply this kind of behaviour is representative of a typical weekend night in most English cities. Based on my experience in various cities across the country, this simply isn't the case. It is representative of a typical weekend night in a small minority of, generally underprivileged, working class cities such as Newcastle and Middlesborough.I've never seen such stuff either, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen regular in certain areas.
I'm in a cafe in Middlesbrough right now. I can think of several places where people have died from assaults in the past few years. There was one in a shopping centre involving asylum seekers. There's one particular street I used to drive through to go to a Scrabble Club which has had at least two deaths. The nearest pub to the Scrabble Club someone died.
I can well imagine what goes on in an average night, particularly in the early hours. There are enough emergency service shows out there as well which tally with my perception.
I doubt Newcastle is any worse than most cities on that front.Yeah, I don't doubt this goes on regularly in certain areas.
