Rightly or wrongly, I think they'd take the view that he's already been punished by missing the winter tour(s) plus being stripped of the vice captaincy.Do you really think the ECB would want someone convicted of a crime like this back on the park representing them in he same season he’s convicted?
I think you'll find this is a slightly different era we're entering if it is proved he was being a homophobic **** himself, after earlier reports suggested he was sticking up for them.Rightly or wrongly, I think they'd take the view that he's already been punished by missing the winter tour(s) plus being stripped of the vice captaincy.
Only guesswork of course.
No he played the NZ series. Got a 60-odd in the first test which I was worried help snatch an undeserved draw before Wagner tempted him with a short oneI don't know about that. As you say, he's already missed the ashes. And did he miss the NZ series too? I reckon that he'll be back this summer unless he's inside.

If so, you can bet there'll be pressure on the ECB for something reasonably significant.
Not really. Actions have consequences.Would be a shame if he's proven guilty though, considering it may cost him his England career.
According to The Mail they're not even testifying! The evidence of the two gay lads may be the key factor, especially if they confirm that Stokes saved them from a kicking.
You're going to have to explain that one please. Now *thats* a Jones v Dunkel inference to be drawn.
If that's true then Stokes has got problemsAccording to The Mail they're not even testifying!
Where did you see that? I only saw one! You're going to have to explain that one please.
And apparently the judge has instructed the jury to find one of the other two guys not guilty of affray.
If you have an available witness and you don’t call them, the other side can ask for an inference to be drawn that their evidence would not have assisted you. You're going to have to explain that one please.

It's up to Stokes legal team to call them - if they're not going to it can only be because they've decided they'll do more harm than goodIt is a dog's dinner of a trial if - what appears to be the crucial witnesses - don't appear, the two gay chaps, and one of the main culprits, Alex Hales, isn't in the dock.
The CPS could have call them. Neither the prosecution nor defence thought to call what are probably the two key witnesses in all this! It's up to Stokes legal team to call them - if they're not going to it can only be because they've decided they'll do more harm than good
