Did anyone reply to this? Some of my players averaged less than 43 as an opener but their overall average is more than that. bagapath? Is it overall average, or average as opener?
Sadly they dominated the ATG talk and everything else when it came to Stats as well, so yeah! Did consider Dravid for the sake of it but somehow could not ignore Barrington's very impressive record @ No.3 position.Going Anglo-Saxon XI, I see

Time to pick your second opener. From this round, I will be adding clauses to include the older players in the pool.
You know the rules. 8 centuries as opener against non minnows. Combined average with your first opener not to exceed 100 runs.
Here is the exception to the rule:
If your second opener is from the pre WW 2 era, then he should have scored at least 1500 runs as opener. Combined average with your first opener not to exceed 100 runs.
Just 1 short of the criteriaWhat Bout South African batsman other than Barry who didn't get a chance to get 8 hundreds?
He falls into the exception of pre WW2 openers right? And he has scored over 1500 runs as an opener.I was going through the list of candidates just now, and I am pretty sure Victor Trumper, as picked by Aldo here, is ineligible to be pocked for this round.
As an opener he has just 3 centuries.
