If Miller ends up becoming an opening bowler, then he should bat below Stewart. Otherwise above him imo. Since Stewart opening isn't a factor anymore.

Yeah I was wondering if I should have picked Hobbs and played Stewart with him to keep total of averages under 100. But have to select a specialist so Gavaskar was not a bad decision after all.

Going Anglo-Saxon XI, I see :p
Sadly they dominated the ATG talk and everything else when it came to Stats as well, so yeah! Did consider Dravid for the sake of it but somehow could not ignore Barrington's very impressive record @ No.3 position.

Time to pick your second opener. From this round, I will be adding clauses to include the older players in the pool.

You know the rules. 8 centuries as opener against non minnows. Combined average with your first opener not to exceed 100 runs.

Here is the exception to the rule:

If your second opener is from the pre WW 2 era, then he should have scored at least 1500 runs as opener. Combined average with your first opener not to exceed 100 runs.
What Bout South African batsman other than Barry who didn't get a chance to get 8 hundreds?

Desmond Haynes, to open with Sir Hobbs. I had to pick a player who averaged less than 43 and I guess I am pretty happy with this.

I was going through the list of candidates just now, and I am pretty sure Victor Trumper, as picked by Aldo here, is ineligible to be picked for this round.

As an opener he has just 3 centuries as opposed to the 8 centuries required by the criteria. He has 8 centuries overall.

He falls into the exception of pre WW2 openers right? And he has scored over 1500 runs as an opener.
