Eyes not spreadsheets
Because, in the interests of fair play, Liam realised that taking 5 players from 1 team and none from another was a little bit lopsided, seeing as it was an invitation side, not a full International squad.

I'm overjoyed to have made the team, this is a huge thing for a new boy like me. Sad to have only gone for 13 off 12, but I hope to make better figures in future games. Big thanks to the selectors for believing in me, I'm really proud to be able to play at the next level so early in my career.

I probably get a bit too excited about this sort of stuff, even when it's not at the absoloute top level. :) It's still a big thing for someone like me, though.

Don't apologise mate, It is good to have you on board, hopefully we can work as a team and put in a good effort. :D

yes, hopefully we can work as a team, and do it my way. :D
In all honesty, this series for us "chairman's players" is about individual performances. Its nice to win, but as was mentioned earlier its likely everyone in this team are fringe players and are looking to make the main squad. So hopefully we can all start playing well, but i play that little bit better than the lot of you :p

Erm Bronco, I for one am thinking of these games as a team effort, not for my own glory.

If were all more interested in our own performances then we're not playing as a team.

SRI LANKA 188 47.1 overs
CWBCC CHAIRMANS XI 189/5 36.5 overs

CWBCC Chairmans XI won by 5 wickets

Man of the match: Jason Toogood

Well the touring teams look in BIG trouble heading into the ODI series. Not sure if this has ever happened before, when a touring side has been beaten so soundly in the warmups before a series.

66 runs, now that's what I'm talking about!

We should have a game of CWXI vs. CW Chairman's XI. ;) We're one kickarse team, I'm really enjoying time with the guys from the other teams, although it's great to have my fellow CW Green members with me. :)

EDIT: Brilliant stuff by Toogood! 51 runs AND an eco rate of 0.00 ;) Rose proving just how good he is, too - low eco rate, three wickets in the bag - Halsey and Lord o' D. both showing off their talents, too. Those economy rates really prove how invaluable they are to CW. This is just awesome.

That's what you get for not supporting the team... :p

Great win guys, That surely must put pressure on the first XI. They now know they have to perform because there are others waiting to swoop on their spots at any opportunity.

Very disapointed to miss out on the squad, but had to be expected with my OD form this year. Congrats to Dave (told you, you would make it) and to the other Reds members, and of course to those not in the Reds' squad.

Give 'em hell boys!
