Hopefully along with the Markram Elgar part-time hand grenades.I know Faf and Vernon are still around but this is the new era now. Hamza, Mulder, Markram and QDK have to step up for me. We know that Bavuma is a good hand, and when in form Elgar is one of the best openers around, but they have limitations. Not too concerned with the bowling, I'm backing Keshav to be our mvp in this Test Championship.
Personally think it is the wrong decision. Nkwe still absorbing so much info - especially after only one season in franchise system and never having played international cricket.
Not expecting Bavuma to do anything? He had way too many chances and excuses. He is the one that needs to step up. If selection was on merit, he would still be competing for a spot.Hopefully along with the Markram Elgar part-time hand grenades.
I think Faf and QDK are going to have to hold our batting together. Maybe Markram to put some quick runs on early.
Bavuma has been moderately consistent with out doing anything great. He has not been our worst batsmen, unfortunately Amla held that distinction for the last while. Elgar was not great this last year and de Bruyn has not exactly been setting the world alight. Although I also think that Bavuma is under definite pressure to start scoring bigger runs rather than these 40's+.Not expecting Bavuma to do anything? He had way too many chances and excuses. I definite think it will be a rebuild phase. But hopefully morale will stay good. As long as everybody is realistic and have goals that can be achieved it should be alright. I do think his immediate success could be down to who he picks as his support staff.I will be surprised if we gain any success in the next while. Morale will drop. Hope Nkwe can get us moving forward but have my doubts. The platform for the next 6-10 years starts here for me.
Good, very much deserved.Van der Dussen rewarded with a CSA contract.
I'm still in the "Bavuma's not actually as bad as everyone says he is" camp, although he does make it hard to remain in that camp at times, particularly of late.Bavuma has been moderately consistent with out doing anything great.
