South Africa
A new year, new ambitions. After a great year for South African cricket it was time for the country to really pull out some big wins and get themselves to the top. 2nd in One Day and 4th in Test rankings come the start of the year, mean that they are not far from the top, but a hard year ahead will prove the world if they are good enough for top spot.
Coming off the back of a brilliant home tour with New Zealand, in which they won all but the 1 ODI from 2 Test's, 3 ODI's and the single T20. Now it was the turn of Bangladesh, the minnows of the Test arena. Away in Bangladesh from February to March will be a good way to start the new year.
But it's later in the year that the true test will come. Two tours to two very different countries in India and England, which could produce some quality and exciting cricket. It will certainly be a tough but a possible fantastic year for the South African side.
