Probably so. I take very little interest in it but they seem to see it as some kind of golden ticket to IPL style riches, somehow.

I agree with this. Rachin at 4 could be very useful with his ability to get the spinners away as the Bangladesh game showed. Mitchell looked out of sorts in the India game and I can see Varun and the others making things extremely difficult for him should NZ reach the final.

Form has to count for something doesn't it? Yes he was good in those tournaments 2 & 4 years ago respectively but It's not like Conway isn't a big match player himself with the difference being he & Young have been averaging well over 40 in the last 12 months vs. Mitchell's average of 30 & to add to that how utterly out of sorts he looked against India on admittedly a spin friendly surface the other night.

If I were to remove my South African cap off , I would have to admit NZ are better suited to defeating India in Dubai conditions..
Bar Maharaj , Shamsi just doesn't inspire confidence and Markram is a part timer who has a niggle ..We really should have included Linde in the original squad of 15.
People say having 2 left arm off spinners is a bit one dimensional, well Axar Patel and Jadeja seem to be doing alright in the same team.

I was thinking about this, it’ll probably depend on what sort of wicket is trotted out. If it’s similar to the one in yesterday’s game the gap from India is probably narrowed a bit.
Otherwise the difference in quality of spinners (see how India dealt with Bracewell) means even if NZ are slightly better (not sure) it’ll take quite a heist for them or SA to beat India. Similar to Linde, someone like Ajaz would be great to have but NZ would never pick him for whiteball.

How much time it takes to prepare a fresh wicket? There are 3 pitches in Dubai . Can they prepare another fresh wicket for Finals ?

Presumably the BCCI get to influence the curator on what sort of pitch they want from a neutral host country.

I think they can, and they may decide to take fewer chances seeing how much the pitch for the 2023 WC final was discussed after the game.
Honestly from a pure cricketing perspective I don’t mind if they put out a used pitch which plays more like the Ind-NZ game. It’s always more fun in an ODI when the batsmen have to earn their runs. Broadcasters probably won’t agree.

The Hundred looks to have achieved its primary goal of earning fat stacks for English cricket, but in doing that it has helped to ruin our 50 over team, and now we’re at the mercy of Indian businessmen who have no reason to give one single **** about English cricket. India are so big that it’s not worth comparing them to anyone else, but Australia are managing to create good all-format teams without pulling stunts like that, and even South Africa with their own problems a fraction of the resources are getting better results than we are, even you guys, despite your golden generation fading away, are still doing far better with your limited resources than we are

if they have to choke even 250 is enough. Won’t call it a choke if NZ score 330 and SA score 300 in reply.
