The ICC said that Sarfraz will also have to complete an education programme “to promote the understanding and awareness of issues directly relevant to the offence that he has committed. The ICC will work with the PCB to determine when and how this should take place”.

What happened to the ICC points system? Was this one incident worth more than the 5 points for a penalty or did it bypass that because of the touchy topic? ( I didn't see any mention of points in the cricinfo article)

In this case, not so severe as it only applies to limited overs stuff.

That's a bit of a rort actually. Bans should apply to the format they occurred in or perhaps be applied in a weighted scenario or perhaps announced in overs or days to serve.

Yeah it was a bit of a funny situation. It was very unsportsmanlike and I hated it, but he was open about it; it's not like he took cash to underperform. He was just being a spiteful ****.
