Honestly would work
Perry would certainly have no problems against our one-paced seam attack which comprises solely of medium-paced shite.

Oh FFS Kennedy turn it up.........We've got the No 1 bowler in the world in our lineup and Stuart "8/15" Broad, these are not medium paced shite bowlers, they are quality and have been quality over a number of years and tests.

Woakes needs to prove himself away from home but I'm confident enough in his selection. It's thanks to your lad that we're struggling for the 4th seamers spot but I still have a lot more faith in our bowling attack performing this series than I do our batting lineup.

Don’t think Kim Hughes was regarded that way so much as he got the captaincy and some senior blokes and ex players wanted Marsh to have it
From what I know that was certainly the main issue, but pretty sure there was a feeling that he was a bit of a posh, well spoken bloke and didn't fit with the more "bogan" element of the team at that time.

Not a hit the deck 90mph pluser there though. It is all green seamy/swing stuff.

He was surrounded by beer slugging hairy ozzy oi oi types who wanted his captaincy, and even had a girl's name.

Sadly have little belief that he'll have a good series but it would be hilarious if Woakes rocked up and bowled reverse in the mid to high 80s, like the last English 3rd seamer to play in Australia that everyone thought was just a fast medium, typical English seam bowler.

Who gives a **** about that? Did Jimmy Anderson in India 2012 bowl like a god on green, seamy wickets?? **** even in the mauling in the last Ashes in Aus Broad took 20+ poles at 27 or something despite having to bowl in the second innings 5 mins after he finished the first.

We've got a couple of world class bowlers in our attack and you're calling them "medium paced shite" It's bollocks and it's wrong........worry about our top order because the bowlers will do a job, just like they did last time over here.

I don't share your enthusiasm but I hope I'm wrong. Broad has to have an excellent Ashes with line and length bowling. Not sure about Jimmy on oz flat tracks. He might do well at Adelaide.

Quietly satisfied with the expected selection of C. Overton, who may actually end up being most suited to the conditions (provided he is able to figure out the right length) out of our quartet.

In addition to fielding three top order batsmen without a test century, we also have a number 6 who hasn't managed one in his last 18 tests and a number 7 who I don't have high expectations for in archetypal Australian conditions. I agree with Adders that our bowling is far from the biggest problem.

i'm back in time for the most important series in world cricket woop

feels like the last time a team not named south africa so much as won a test here was 1744 so i am expecting nothing less but an australian drubbing of the poms on ****** lifeless roads with england probably coming closest in adelaide

You're kidding me you actually support England? There was me thinking you were Australian and dissing for fun. Jeez, why don't you just button it and support your country?

Also, England don't have anyone like what you describe. With pace in Aus you also need control. People go on about Mark Wood but he's so over rated and barely even touches 90 let alone keeps it up, maybe for one over in a T20 game and Plunkett who is the same, barely touches it but is consistent 86-87, he may have more control but yeah. You have Anderson who is an English all time great and Broad who is in the same boat, granted his form of late hasn't been great.

Exactly how good our bowlers are would only be important if the Australian batsmen were any good, but they ain't - the only thing we need to be wary of is giving them too many lives - his prowess as a slipper is where I fear we may miss Stokes the most

In Australian conditions Warner, Khawaja and Smith will score enough on their own to win the series. We'd struggle big time in Pomgolia, but here Root is going to need to go large often to make it competitive.

Don't forget James Vince - such a ludicrous selection it can only mean the selectors know something nobody else does - I'm expecting him to score at least 600 runs in the series
