Road to the 2017-18 Ashes in Australia

They are not exclusive and I'd say Stoneman is who they just continue with. Drop Malan for Northeast and that is a batting line-up that would succeed.
Drop someone who is finally beginning to look like they might have something about themselves for someone who's been mediocre in division 2?

Well it was pretty full when I was there in 2002......the crowd was absolutely feral. Apologies for the obligatory dig but I don't rate Aussie crowds highly at all (amazing how you get so many bogans in one place at one time) but the Brisbane crowd is by far the worst I've ever come across.
Always happens when that **** with the trumpet turns up.

Dunno why England fans would bother coming here. Too hot, crowds are apparently horrible, the grounds are also all terrible according to comments on here (probably because their own grounds hold as many people as a phone booth) and it's expensive to travel around because we don't live on a postage stamp.

More than happy for them to stay home, especially the Barmy Army, which was funny in about 1995 but is now just a twee cliche.

Don't agree with banning the trumpeter though. He's a lot more entertaining than Alistair Cook's batting tbf.

23.65 from eight innings? The only thing he's done is score two 60s against the West Indies!

FTR Billy wasn't around in 2002, but that is another reason why I dislike the Gabba so much after they farcically banned him in 2010. ****s.
Deserved it, he plays horribly and like a consummate amateur.

You wouldn't allow that kind of disgrace on the Gabba pool deck.

You do not like proper twee cricket grounds? I've never met a cricket fan who prefers the bigger venues which is why outground cricket is so popular in England. I'm not even keen on your largest English venues to be honest, your Edgbastons, Traffords, Chester-les, Ovals to be honest. Give me Chesterfield, New Road or Taunton any day of the week.

Talking **** as always Gnske....

Cooper was educated at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has a Bachelor of Music honours degree and a performer's diploma from the Royal Academy of Music,[SUP][2][/SUP] and plays as a guest trumpeter with several orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra and new music specialists Klangforum Wien, as well as in West End musicals.[SUP][3][/SUP]

His timing is legendary.......

Yeah we have a fair few of them. I agree the county grounds in the U.K. are terrific, but I think for internationals you do want to have grounds capable of holding really big crowds where possible.

Around Sydney you have places like North Sydney Oval, where they took the old Bob Stand from the SCG, which is charming. Places like Bankstown and Drummoyne have held ODD games too. A lot fo the first grade grounds are rally beautiful, AB oval at Mosman is a stunner, even Old Kings. AB Field in Brisbane is maybe the best ground I've played and watched at. Really great facilities but not a concrete edifice. Shame it's in Brisbane really.

It was banter til until you brought that disrespectful video into this thread. Just makes me so glad the Gabba will never suffer this again.

I request only once that you delete it, else I'll report Burgey's post and when Harsh sees it he'll accidentally infract you.

That was at Sydney not the Gabba. And anyway, after CA got involved after Brisbane's ridiculous decision in 2006 Billy has been welcomed at all the test venues in Australia.

Isn't threatening to report a post on here the same as being a five year old in the playground and going "Umm, I'm telling on you"

No, the teacher would get the right kid and put that child in detention.

Here it's a lottery and the whole class is put in jeopardy by a single word.

I remember on boxing day 2010 where after the greatest day of cricket of all time the thread here had descended into a mash of drivel about grounds by the time i came online

Presumably now as much as then the Aussies can't bear to talk about the cricket itself
