Road to the 2015 Ashes in England

This Ashes is too close to call. I feel Australia's chances depend very much on Warner and Smith, if Clarke and Rogers don't get going soon. Bowling wise, the Aussies may have the upper hand. Even the tail can wag like no other. I recently read that Saffers and Aussies have the best tail batting average. They also clean up the opposition's tail quite easily. England's fortunes depend upon Cook, Root and Ballance. Broad and Anderson with the ball. So, the usual suspects.

Analysing the impact of Australia's tail in Test Cricket

So, yeah. The Aussies are slight favourites.

Clarke could really do with a long innings here.

A strangely large number of bowled dismissals in this game. I guess that's partly due to Starc, but still, learn how to defend, you pricks.

The control needs to get there for MMarsh to be selected, even with two wickets I think Boof will leave him out because letting the pressure off can be debilitating for a test attack. A la past Starc, Brett Lee.

If Starc is really hitting the yorker he's going to be ecstatic to be bowling at Ballance.

Prior to going cheaply here Watson's claim was bolstered a bit by also having made a couple of decent scores, even if wasn't as impressive as Marsh's runs. If Marsh gets another 50 or something here the weight of runs might get him the job, even if Watson did decently with the ball in the Essex innings.

Might be a fitness question too since Watson didn't bowl at all today.

So they are going to triple Mitch the team then. Harris is a massive blow if he doesnt play.

100% certain that harris is out of cardiff even if one of mj/haze/starc gets injured. probably good that he got injured in a 'silver line in a dark cloud' way cos they wouldn't have played him in cardiff anyway but now that i wont have to start throwing things mid way through the test match if starc starts to ball pies knowing that harris is missing out due to an injury.

Haze will be steady and Lyon can do a job but Starc and MJ are both wild cards. They can both be very hot or cold.

johnson could keep things down these days tbh but thats not the johnson i want.
Yeah, I wonder if he will dial it back to help balance out the control in the attack. It's good that he can but I'd also rather watch firebrand Mitch.
