Retirements!!

Blewy

Cricketer Of The Year
Its just shows some people are taking their good teams for granted, i mean look at poor NSW they had a world class side in season 1, but have slowly started to fall away.....
Bugs has now realised he needs to invest in some youth otherwise he will go down the drain, He lost Warne and Kirsten, as good as if not better then Attapattu and Saggers yet he has not complained, he has taken it in his stride and will look at it as a positive, forcing him to go for youth...

I agree. Something that needs to be considered is that teams always go through patches of glory and doom (ie Leed Utd Champions League Semi Finalists, two years later fighting a relegation battle). Its tough.

I proppse we make any side except Surrey relinquish all their players to the pool and I get the first 16 picks! ;)

One question , since my 2 players are being replaced with 2 others... can i kick those 2 incoming ones when i have to make my squad cut?

Yes, they replace your 2 who are retiring, and as such can even be traded (although if you're thinking of dumping them I doubt you could trade them for anyone of use)

Is this same idea going to be continued next season, ie with retired players getting replaced by new rookies???

Most likely it will be, so long as people can take the good with the bad...
Well. It would be nice if in the next few weeks we could get some kind of confirmation, as you see this rookie replacement retiring players thing, could very well influence draft and trading decisions...

Are you considering keeping old people on the off chance you get a random rookie that's any good?

It's a damn shame to see my captain Grant Flower go. I think the recent traumas have been too much for him. Romesh Kaulwitharana looks a likely captaincy choice for next season.

New comer O Moore is nothing to write home about, although the off-spinning allrounder could be useful in the 4-day game.

its a shame gilly is leaving w.australia :-(

he was a star in the team and one of the best wicketkeeper/batsmen will be sorely missed.. i think his retirement is premature though.. and i think i wont find a good enough keeper to replace him .

You have to remember like Blewy says younger players retire all the time, at Kent in real life we had a bowler who retired at like 24 last season, and your complaining over 33 you should feel lucky!
Why did he retire?
