Reserve days

They don't have reserve days because they'd cost a lot of money. You'd be effectively scheduling extras days that wouldn't be used 90% of the time.

@Molehill is there a rule against posting when on holiday? I feel bad now about the amount of useless posts I made from the Dominican Reoublic
Obviously there isn't. But when I was on holiday recently I started to have a look at CW and then decided against it. My daughters are 20 & 18 and I probably won't have many more trips away with them, so I thought I'd make the most of it and just keep my cricket obsession down to score checking. Given the **** that was going on at Lord's at the time, it was probably a wise decision.

Haha fair enough mate. My twin daughters (16) were mainly interested in their own phones so I had no problem spamming away on here, especially at times when the wife was in her own world listening to audiobooks etc.

No need for 'Reserve Days'. The weather/light has always been a factor in games/series. It comes down to a degree of luck. England may complain about their bad luck with the weather... Australia about their bad luck with the toss.
As for criticism of Stokes re declarations and non-declarations, the majority of these are in hindsight.
It's been a good series played in a good spirit (apart from a minor glitch) and hopefully the 5th Test will be a fitting finale.
There wasn't much hindsight on the first declaration, we all knew it was daft at the time.

As for the second, I think the biggest issue there was the lack of attack before lunch. It felt like they needed to go all out for 20 overs and then be bowling before lunch. I severely doubt it would've made any difference mind. The first declaration was a game changer, the second wasn't.

Agree with rest of your analysis, but 1st test declaration was an absolute howler, while the 4th test non declaration was shown to be absolutely the right move, per @Qlder analysis.

And I say this as someone who finds Stokes to be a generally brilliant, and great in game captain. He made one historically big and costly blunder in this series.
