I withdrew my vote for Hammond after seeing Gavaskar's average versus the WI and I would've just picked Gavaskar over Hammond.

Hammond for me as well, though Chappell has a very strong case himself.
Hammond's low average against the WI is the only issue for me. Chappell looks to be the more consistent of the two. Hammond's reputation takes him through IMO.
