There’s zero case for this other than subjectivity

Similar average at a MUCH easier time for batting.

Fewer centuries per test

Fewer iconic innings

Played in a better lineup

Lower strike rate (and you actually agree SR matters)
Actually because Flintoff batted higher in the order. But on reflection I switch my opinion, I go for Kapil then, you make good points.

Are you just making this stuff up or looking at the wrong stats?

Flintoff averaged more centuries per Test, but fewer per innings batted. There isn't a lot of difference in either though. However when it comes to scores of 50 plus per Test or innings batted, Flintoff is comfortably ahead by a lot.

Flintoff played 40% less games than Kapil which would mean less opportunities for those "iconic innings".

Also where are you finding Kapils Test batting SR as it's not listed anywhere I've looked?

Thanks for pointing this. I will switch back to Flintoff now.

As for iconic innings, Flintoff has an Ashes winning ton that I think qualifies.
