Rahul Dravid - What would you do? Is he still one of India's 6 best batsman?

Virat Kohli (c)
Was more referring to the wickets and not the bowlers.

Kemar Roach will be a challenge though, of course.

It's hard to say. On one hand, I don't think India would want 3 players retiring at the same time. On the other hand, he still probably has a role to play somewhere - England and Australia aren't the easiest of tours. I'd say perhaps rest him from the West Indies, so they can blood someone else, but pick him for England and Australia, where he still could make a difference.

I'm sure Kemar Roach would give them an opportunity to wet their feet in test cricket
Doesn't move the ball much, just has raw pace. Will be pasted all around the park if there is low bounce in the wicket. Might get a few wickets if he uses his bouncers well and surprises a few batters.

Roach did really well in Sri Lanka. Took the pitch out of the equation.

Oh right, that must explain his bowling average of 24.50 in Sri Lanka on those really bouncy wickets. Not to mention a high percentage of top order batsmen.

Yeah loved watching him in SL. Really elegant, fluid action as well.

Roach is the real deal. Best fast bowling spells I've seen this year apart from Steyn against India are from Roach in SL.

Liked Andy Russel more than Roach in that tour and there were a lot of clouds and rain about throughout the tests. Can't predict how he will do when there is no swing in sunny Windies.

Sure is. I bet a mate 5 cases of corona that Roach would finish his career with an average under 27.

But didn't you just say he would struggle on pitches that don't bounce and that he is just raw pace? Sri Lanka is a batsmens paradise and Roach really excelled.

I do agree Russel has future potential but he was a little wayward

I said he did not have much movement not that he never had any. Maybe a month of watching Steyn has made me under appreciate every other fast bowler.:p

While I reckon all the pitches in WI are gonna be roads like usual this time, I hope they prepare a Sabina Park-like minefield

You also specifically said he would struggle on pitches that offer low bounce and he would get plastered all over the field. If he can knock over the Sri Lankan top order at home how would he fare on more bowler friendly wickets?

Yeah who knows. Imagine Roach with a bit of spice in the wicket. I guess once the Windies FC season starts we can get some sort of indication.

W. Indies tracks have been so flat, slow and boring for so long, it's ridiculous. Far worse than anywhere on the subcontinent.

WI wickets are not bowler friendly these days so that isn't going to be a factor. But yeah he would be awesome if he gets to bowl on SA wickets.
