She isn't a bad journalist, probably disliked in part because she is a women who dares to have an opinion on sport.

Because her opinions are **** like many other journalists who get rubbished here. I can safely say my flagrant hatred for anything with a vagoo is a mere supplement to this.

My dislike of her comes from a generally myopic view, with few articles coming without a definite bias. If doing a opinion piece a certain bias is fine, but when she tries 'journalism' that bias needs to be reigned in... also she often produces articles that are actually just a regurgitation of the quite negative knee-jerk public opinion view coming out of SA sport in general.

This piece presents at least a semblance of facts without her bias getting in the way to much...

Oh what garbage.

She is a rubbish journalist - look at the nonsense she wrote about Siphe Mzaidume.

Her writing is cliche-ridden and very samey. You can tell after reading the first two sentences of an article whether it's been written by Moonda.

She writes with an agenda, and really doesn't know much about cricket tradition or history.

And it's nothing to do with the fact that she's a woman. Antoinette Muller is one of the best cricket writers in South Africa and she's a WOMAN (gasp).

WARNING: Firdose Moonda article.... but probably one her better articles written (or had help writing!), actually thoughtfully written.
Firdose Moonda: The black, white and grey of South Africa's latest transformation initiative | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

She mentions research in the second last paragraph... would love to see that research. but I can believe it knowing people in different fields who have similar problems.
Yeah, for a Moonda article it's actually not too bad.

Would also like to see that research.

It is pretty funny how any mention of her sends you guys into a frothing rage though.
Unfortunately she is the main writer on cricinfo for RSA articles... if you had her as main writer for NZ she would send you into a frothing rage as well.....

Nah, sorry, this is not true. She's really quite terrible. The amount of basic information she gets wrong in some of her articles is unforgivable.

No, you're right. Women journalists are treated completely fairly and on an equal footing with men.

That's not what anybody here who dislike Moonda are saying... I`m more than happy with female journalist, and I can accept that some are not given the credit or chances that some male journalists get.

But Moonda is just a poor journalist, regardless of the fact she is male or female...

Gotta love the classic "oh people don't think I'm very good at something it must be because I'm a minority/under-priviliged and their racist/***ist"
