Problems accessing CW

No but this problem seems to have been going on for a while. Should have been resolved already but that's telecom companies for you.

Definately, shounak will just have to keep going on at them until they decide to have a look and fix it.

They wouldn't help me as I'm not a customer.

Yeah, they're Australia's biggest Telecommunications company.. 51% Government owned and own pretty much all the infrastructure..

I'm not happy at all..

Do you want me to resend the email James?

Go for it, keep bugging them until they fix it.

I'm highly unconvinced that it's solely telstra's problem. If roseboy is also having problems it makes it even less likely.

BTW, I just had half an hour's downtime about half an hour ago - and the same was true when I tried to access via proxify. I also after a while got a mySQL database error, which further suggests that some of these issues (even if not all) are at CW's end.

IMO, the ping/tracert option doesn't really tell us much. If you are pinging while you're able to access cricketweb, of course, it'll get through. The problem exists when you can't access cricketweb. Mind you, telstra should know this. 8-)

If this means anything.. Sometimes I can't access www.cricketweb.net or forum.cricketweb.net, but I can access the site by typing in just the IP..

But I can only view the frontpage using the IP and none of the links work.. So it's pretty much useless..

I guess tracert would just show that I'm able to access the IP, when I want to find out why I can't access the main page..

You ought to be able to append the path to the IP - ie:

http://70.86.92.103/forum/showthread.php?p=667361#post667361

It means you've just got to copy the link to your address bar and splice the IP in (it might also make you login again to post, 'cause the cookies you have will be for the resolved domain).

Suggests nameserver difficulties, I guess.

Have you contacted your ISP again Shounak? Without them at least giving you/me some information there's nothing to go back to CW's hosts with.

This was the last comment:

Well, nothing on the server is blocking him. Otherwise, he wouldn't
finish up the traceroute (it would just time out). Sounds like
something on his ISP's side is blocking it.

No response.. They're driving me crazy.. If those guys at Bigpond were bowlers, they'd be tossers..

Yeah its an odd issue because my downstairs PC generall has this issue, where I often can't access the front page, or the forum or both. However my upstairs laptop which is connected to the exact same internet broadband modem will always work and never has this problem. Very odd, and I have no idea why this occurs.

That will tell us a lot but you're missing the top of it :(

Can you copy the results into a reply to this thread please? To do that, click on the top left of the ms dos window, and then select "Edit", "Select All", "Copy" and then paste into the forum.

Can those of you who are having trouble, send the following email to your Support please?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been having regular problems in accessing the website Cricket Web (http://www.cricketweb.net) along with many other Bigpond customers I know.

Cricket Web themselves have looked into it and believe it to be an ISP issue. Below is a tracert result of Cricket Web:

Can you please look into this for me?
