Anna

International Vice-Captain
I'd completely forgotten Bully!!:O How could I? He'll be a suitable candidate with more match practise.

The MRF pace academy you mean? Its at Chennai.
Almost every good paceman in India has had some inputs from there. Also many of the Lankan pacemen.
So it's really successful then! ;)

I have to disagree. When fit, there's Caddick, Gough, Jones, Harmison, Hoggard, Flintoff, White and possibly even Kirtley, Anderson and Hogg in front of him.

krkode

State Captain
Well, Silverwood was doing quite well before he got injured...his injury opened the door for some of the other youngsters you mentioned, Marc.

I'm not so sure about that to be honest - 30 wickets at 32.83 in 12 games?

Also, his middle names are Eric and Wilfred, so he should never come near the team again!

Well Zaheer Khan, Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad, Subroto Banerjee, David Johnson, Tinu Yohannan have all graduated from MRF Pace Academy.

McGrath, Chaminda Vaas and others have all gone there for stints.

Mumbai's Aavishkar Salvi is a name to look out for in the future. Apparently he's pretty quick.

MB, of that list Subroto Bannerjee and now Tinu Yohanan have benefited quite a bit from that academy.
They cant really claim any others in that list are 'graduates' of the academy or something. I think there were a couple of Sri Lankans that represented their country who can be considered graduates of the academy but I dont remember their names.

Marc, some of the names he mentioned have been quite successfull in the international arena

Oh that list, Srinath is the only real success at this stage from the list of Indians - Khan may in the future be one, but the rest haven't really done it!

No, a leg spinner may be in the England Squad by 2007 if there is one that is good enough - if there isn't one good enough, then there won't be one there.

Also for the World Cup I think it's even more doubtful we'll see one coming in.

Yes if there is a good one, as there are being Excellently coached by Jenner

Tinu's hardly been a success though. Even his domestic bowling average is 40...

Marc, the list he mentioned has Srinath, Prasad, McGrath, Vaas amongst others.

Marc and Rik, what the hell are you trying to achieve out here? There's nobody here who said MRF or any other pace academy produced Marshalls or Lillees. Who said the pace academy was producing the best players the world ever saw?
I said in my post that its time we started demanding results.
Some other poster just wanted to know about the academy/academies in India and thought it was in Mumbai.

I know you are still under serious stress after some 'terrace elements' screwed you, but its time to get out of it

Yes, and of that list as I said, only one Indian has been that successful, Srinath.

McGrath and Vaas aren't Indian last time I checked.

No one said that, but it was said that every good Indian pacer had been there...

It's more of a question of what you are trying to achieve here.

I know you are still under serious stress after some 'terrace elements' screwed you, but its time to get out of it
No, I am quite calm. Oh and for your information, your posts in the thread about AA's innings could quite easily be construed as "terrace"

How does that affect whether they'll be ODI standard?

Not if they're not up to it in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a leggie in the England XI but to go around saying it's definite is, well, for want of a better word, terrace.

MRF Pace academy has been a bit of a let down in my books, barring Srinath, Zaheer Khan and to a lesser extent Venkatesh Prasad, no one has done anything at all.

Iqbal Siddiqui, Feroze Ghayas are some more names that have graduated.
