Possible Names In the Indian WC2007 Squad

full_length

U19 Vice-Captain
MRF Pace academy has been a bit of a let down in my books, barring Srinath, Zaheer Khan and to a lesser extent Venkatesh Prasad, no one has done anything at all.

Iqbal Siddiqui, Feroze Ghayas are some more names that have graduated.
That's right. Once again, MRF doesnt get any credit for Srinath, Prasad or Zaheer Khan. They helped these three, but the academy doesnt have any of their 'products' on the international stage. Youhanan is the only fellow currently in contention whose career was given some direction by MRF IMO.

Not good enough.

State Captain
As Gavaskar once said, and I agree, a country's youth will follow their favorite cricketers onto their own path, if they choose their own path to be cricket.

Young Indians will look at Bedi, Chandrashekar, Prasanna and Kumble and want to become spinners. Young Pakistanis will look at Akram, Imran Khan, Waqar Younis and Akhtar and want to become fast bowlers...Just two examples...

It's all in the mentality and the history :P

But then again, having lived in India for a long time, I guess I'm relatively correct, Indian diet, mode of exercise, and other activities don't build height, muscle and arm power as much as some other countries' activities do, and so we tend to have "smaller sized" cricketers...We don't have any 6'5"+ biggies like McGrath, Akram or Ambrose...of course there ARE exceptions to this - Abey Kurruvilla was one hec of a tall guy... :wow: and Kumble and Laxman are tall too...

And maybe that's why India tends to produce more spinners and batsmen as compared to fast bowlers who can really give the ball some speed...

Have you forgotten? He said, and I quote "Some of the people on this board are getting rather boring" in reply to my post about that stupid arguement being boring after it is brought back for it's 3rd showing. How can you possibly say that is a mature comment? He will get stick because he hasn't shown that he can reply in a mature way without resorting to insulting people.

I know you are still under serious stress after some 'terrace elements' screwed you, but its time to get out of it

No, I am quite calm. Oh and for your information, your posts in the thread about AA's innings could quite easily be construed as "terrace"

I've missed something somewhere.
