Lillee's wasn't as well?
And that's dragged to the very ground here, to the point we have started to underrate him. He also has an ATG record in England, unlike Chappell. And Lillee wouldn't had faced a huge challenge in India, Chappell would had

Tier 1 ATG - Tendulkar, Sobers, Viv, Lara

Tier 2 ATG - Gavaskar, Chappell, Smith, Kallis, Ponting, Sangakkara, Border, Waugh, Dravid, Kohli, De Villiers

Most won’t agree with De Villiers but I think he was as good as Sachin/Viv/Lara at his best
Know your thoughts on Hobbs, but no Hutton or Smith in tier 1?

I was focusing mainly on players from the last 60 years. I guess Hobbs would go in tier 1 and maybe Hutton and Hammond in tier 2.

Not really sure though. Don’t have a strong opinion on these older players.

There's footage of Hutton though. He faced O'Reilly, Lindwall, Miller, the West Indian mystery spinners etc. He played vs Bradman and probably overlapped with Sobers...

No. Viv was much higher rated.
Rated much higher sure. But I mean in a more objective assessment, not in peer assessment where you are right Sachin and Lara were neck to neck, and Viv seen as the best player of his era. But Viv is a top 5 batter of all time like SRT(a bit lower than him tho), and Gavaskar is a top 9-10 bat, and Lara is number 7/8 on my lists.

The Sachin/Lara comp seemed pretty fair to me. Most people rate Viv a bit below Sachin and Gavaskar a bit below Lara. Their peer reviews might not exactly be comparable, but that has more to do with Sachin and Lara beginning at the same time and the former going on to play for 7 more years with another great peak. And also, the batting style.
