Some people who aren't really big names will try to defend him, then the majority of the players will prosecute.

He'll either a) be found guilty and banned for life (at which point he'll retire again and then come back out of retirement in 6 months) or b) be acquitted and there'll be strike action.

Does it matter whether we are big names of not?

so, you won't accept the boards decision unless it is in your favour? This stinks of hypocrisy.
If the board says he is guilty or not guilty, then he is whatever the board says. Don't try to play God.

The only reason I can see for people being opposed to the trial is that they're afraid that Nikhil will win and thus at some point return to Dev League cricket. I would have thought the people to be so confident of victory that they'd consider this but a formality.

How does a trial work in the CW XI, out of curiosity?

i understand that it is currently being worked out in the boardroom, we will all find out very soon.

I assume you've looked at the evidence (which tends to be a major part of any court case)
I agree that Nikhil should be banned for life.

But you use evidence when it is in favour of you, but accuse Liam of things with no evidence whatsoever? Interesting way of looking at things.

lalala!!!!!! I'll stand by whatever decision the board makes and won't strike. as long as we are given an oppurtunity to voice our opinions and they are actually taken into consideration.... i.e a vote.

everyone will have their say that the prosection wants to have a say i would imagine, no doubt the panel of judges will take that into account.

The reason people don't want a trial is because the board is only 2 people and they won't be taking everyone elses word, rather making their own decision between themselves. That's not really a fair way for things to be done, but that is the fear that I dare say most are holding. It was unanimous that people didn't want Nikhil to play and I for one can't believe it is even being considered again for this reason.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering about with regards to how a trial is run - ie, will there be a jury, etc.

Basically what I'm saying is I'll agree with the board as long as the process is conducted in a way that takes everyone's views into consideration
