Who is the better test bowler at their peak?

Where would you rate him if he fulfills the 300 wicket cutoff? Beside Steyn?
Assuming he completes 300 wickets at the current rate, it is tough not to rate him as better. Steyn and even McGrath had few holes in their record.

Maco would perhaps be his only competition since both of them would be similar - Short careers, excellent pretty much against everyone & eveywhere.

Close to him. Not sure it's enough to overcome Steyn's longevity, and that he had flatter pitches.
Steyn had a 10 year peak taking 5 wickets a test. Very hard for any pure pace bowler to overcome that though pound for pound, Bumrah is better quality in terms of spells.

McGrath was a machine though and regularly bowled in 5 and 6 test series. Can you imagine the liability of Bumrah breaking down every Ashes?

I think Bumrah edges Steyn though.
