If he is in the conversation, it should not be crazy to rate him at the top.to be in the conversation? maybe. The GOAT? Nah

Because Viv was just better.why do you think people rate Viv over Sangakkara when Sangakkara averages 8 points more?
Think like this. I think Gavaskar is in the Best After Don Conversation, but don't think rating him that makes much sense. If he is in the conversation, it should not be crazy to rate him at the top.
Maybe the first thought is wrong.......Think like this. I think Gavaskar is in the Best After Don Conversation, but don't think rating him that makes much sense.

Incapable of finishing a 5 test series unlike other ATGs. Almost all of them were capable of regularly bowling 150 overs a series of load, especially Marshall. What’s your argument against Bumrah?
If this are his figures say 320 wickets @ 19.8

And it isn't
So the only argument is his body being fragile.Incapable of finishing a 5 test series unlike other ATGs. Almost all of them were capable of regularly bowling 150 overs a series of load, especially Marshall.
To be frank its a bigger issue in the 80s era where 4/5 test series were regularly played. So the only argument is his body being fragile.
Where would you rate him if he fulfills the 300 wicket cutoff? Beside Steyn?Incapable of finishing a 5 test series unlike other ATGs. Almost all of them were capable of regularly bowling 150 overs a series of load, especially Marshall.
Above Steyn but behind Marshall, Hadlee and McGrath because of the workload issue. Yes, even with a 19 average.Where would you rate him if he fulfills the 300 wicket cutoff? Beside Steyn?
Assuming he completes 300 wickets at the current rate, it is tough not to rate him as better. Steyn and even McGrath had few holes in their record.Where would you rate him if he fulfills the 300 wicket cutoff? Beside Steyn?
Close to him. Not sure it's enough to overcome Steyn's longevity, and that he had flatter pitches.Where would you rate him if he fulfills the 300 wicket cutoff? Beside Steyn?
Yeah seems easier to slice through lineups today than even in the 90s.I feel batting lineups were much better in Marshall’s era and McGraths era. Bumrah is probably around Steyn level in quality.
Steyn had a 10 year peak taking 5 wickets a test. Very hard for any pure pace bowler to overcome that though pound for pound, Bumrah is better quality in terms of spells.Close to him. Not sure it's enough to overcome Steyn's longevity, and that he had flatter pitches.
McGrath was a machine though and regularly bowled in 5 and 6 test series. Can you imagine the liability of Bumrah breaking down every Ashes?Assuming he completes 300 wickets at the current rate, it is tough not to rate him as better. Steyn and even McGrath had few holes in their record.
Maco would perhaps be his only competition since both of them would be similar - Short careers, excellent pretty much against everyone & eveywhere.
Shouldn't his average will go up.He is above 30 years old.Where would you rate him if he fulfills the 300 wicket cutoff? Beside Steyn?
I think he has hit peak but don't think he can sustain it longer than 1-2 years.Shouldn't his average will go up.He is above 30 years old.
He could end up with a sub 20 average if he retires in his peak after 2 years.I think he has hit peak but don't think he can sustain it longer than 1-2 years.
