There was actually talk about an Pakistan-India series in England late last year and Giles Clarke of all people was presiding over the talks..but even that is highly unlikely now

Imagine a day night test between them at Edgbaston. Get bigger crowds than for an England test there other than an ashes one.

Whatever it takes!!!
It's intensified of late but hasn't it always been the case?

Nothing wrong with a neutral venue imo. If not the UAE then they should totally play in Malaysia or something, some quality grounds there.

That's the point. Its not the status quo random bombings and shootings right now... There is an actual chance of a war here and we are discussing them playing cricket.

Settled probably the wrong word to use, but the fact that we've had changes to the lineup is probably because a problem of plenty rather than a scarcity of potentially good batsmen tbh. I don't think we'd have had insane, schizophrenic decisions like Vijay and Pujara being dropped after one or two mediocre games if there weren't other decent options. And going forward, I don't expect too many crazy changes. England on the other hand, have given a comparatively long rope to their batsmen like Vince and Hales.

I prefer our batsmen over England's but I like the faith that they show in the young batsmen more.
England have a problem of plenty as well.

Plenty of top order bats as mediocre as each other, that is.

Reckon this could have easily happened given Pakistan played Australia in England. But spot fixers ****ed it.

*****.
The Tests not being profitable probably plays a part as well. Pakistan v India might be a different matter I suppose.

The WI loss seems to have triggered a really bad slump. Doing well in Australia is tough at the best of times TBF, but with Misbah and Younis now looking past it, we're starting to question whether they're even in the top 4 or 5 ATM. They'll have to go back and rebuild a bit.

They're now where I feel they should be looking at their personnel, outside the top 4.

Worst side to get to number 1 since the rankings have been in place.

They had a good run, and deserved #1 status in terms of their results, but they probably did overachieve in England. And like India in 2011, they were propped up by guys who were close to the end (Dravid, Laxman / Misbah, Younis) - and then once the end arrived they've fallen quickly.

I know they won a couple of games recently in England, but I'd happily take India's bowling attack over theirs' at the moment as well. Feels strange saying that as an Indian fan about Pakistan.

This pretty much.

A sad end to misbah's generally good captaincy career.
