The stage nicely set for Dippenaar and Kallis here, to demonstrate that when you pick quality players, they tend to put in good performances..

Now theres a lesson to us all

Good knock from Dipp and Duminy, an expected victory although we lacked intensity and should have bowled them out for far less..

Good to see Langeveldt making a comeback, if I remember correctly he has been injured for a little while hasn't he? Anybody have any ideae why Dale Steyn wasn't picked? He seems a very good prospect and I'm suprised they didn't use him in a game with lesser batsman to get some wickets under his belt.

Also good knocks by Dippenaar and Duminy, Dippenaar again showing he is a very good ODI batsman even if it was against Zimbabwe and his SR was 66. Still, SA will need to be more convincing in the next game but encouraging signs for Zimbabwe.

Was the match a Vusi Sibanda benefit game with South Africa letting him get a half century?

Well watching that game I got to see 2 of the worst spinners bowling in tandom I have ever seen wearing an international shirt.

If it all was not so expected it would be embarassing
Kamungozi is one of the strangest selections I've ever seen. I really hope Ryan Higgins is injured because if he isn't, it is a complete and utter joke.

I find that more scary then Smith's (DCYE) obession watching Murphy (Benchmark) showering.

Alviro Petersen makes his debut today..

How many mediocre Petersens/Petersons/Pietersens can we supply to the world?

Zimbabwe selection policy continues to baffle. I'm fairly happy with the "best XI" that they pick these days, but the extra squad players they pick, and the players they bring in for injuries, just seem all wrong. Strydom is easily the next best batsman available and IMO should probably be putting pressure on Terry Duffin's place. But Duffin is out with injury and they bring in Mufambisi.. I'm seriously more confident in Blessing Mahwire's batting. To confuse matters even more, Mupariwa is out (he better be injured or I'll kill the selectors) and has been replaced with.. Piet Rinke of all people..

Hahaha, and Mufambisi opening the batting no doubt! At least I won't have to worry about him coming in for very long. Strydom must be gutted not be selected.. he's actually performed fairly reasonably. He even batted at #3 in one game against Bangladesh or Kenya and did very well...

Sibanda gone for a duck. I would have bet my reg leg that Mufambisi would get out first - but I guess it's never a good thing to rely on Sibanda batting you into anything. :p

Mufambisi is actually looking quite good judging by the cricinfo coverage. 20 off 21 balls. He has almost passed his highest List A score of 33 (no, I'm not joking....)

Yes, I really should go back to bagging our players. It worked to much better effect.

Masakadza in next. Probably our best ba... no wait... he's rubbish! Yes...

Masakadza out for 5, I think you'd be best off going back to the old strategy

I said Sibanda had been batting well lately, and he got out for a duck.
I bagged the crap out of Mufambisi and he played a beautiful innings of 20*.
I then gave him some credit for the innings and he got bowled for 21.
I implied that Masakadza was our best batsman and he got out for 5.

I really should just give up. :p
On the plus side, I did give Rinke a bit of a bagging earlier so he'll probably score a few when he comes out to bat. Having said that now though, he'll probably fail...

Mufambisi has done well in the Logan Cup when he's played for Mashonaland (obviously he only had limited chances when Taibu was in the Mash side) so I think he deserved a chance. Taylor-Chibhabha is the crucial partnership now.

Hall has gone for 12 runs in his first two overs, hope he doesn't release this pressure built up. We need someone to keep it tight before Peterson comes on to bowl.
