Just a random thought, do we pick up any ICC test ranking points for this win, because Zimbabwe technically aren't ranked?

Well, Chakabva's batted better than I expected him to. He and Jarvis are literally the only two players who performed at or above my expectations though; this has just been so roundly disappointing in general. I've been too depressed to post in the thread mostly. Can't help but wonder if it would have been different if Taylor did the right thing at the toss but this has just been pathetic.
Actually, I'll amend this to say Shingi performed pretty much how I expected him to, but that's because I don't think he's very good, so it's not exactly a compliment.

He'd gain about 10kph in pace if he braced his front leg properly imo. It's a rather common technique fault.
Yeah, and that's precisely why he sometimes bowls 140km/hr and sometimes bowls 120km/hr.

I honestly think he needs some serious coaching and refinement before we see him again tbh. Potentially Zimbabwe's best bowler by a long way but it's just not anywhere near true most of the time.

Pretty happy with that. The Black Caps won't get a lot of credit for it from the media etc I imagine, but did basics well and was a genuinely good all-round performance.

Chris Martin average watch: 33.33

Is that Zimbabwe's most humiliating loss ever? I mean sending us in to bat and losing by an innings and 300 runs even after our centurion and best batsman strained his calf.

And you live in New Zealand as well. Poor soul.
Recorded the morning session, watching it now. So depressed. Commentators laughing at Zim.

I wouldn't mind if they lost their first overseas game in a decade, but not like that.

Game against SA in 2005 was worse, but they fought in the second innings there, got 200+.

I don't really think it was; it was expected then in a way because the team had been ripped apart by the err issues at the time. This is more humiliating because of all the positivity leading into the match and the fact that they really should have played much, much better.

Yeah there were a few butterflies in the stomach for more than a couple kiwi fans for this match considering what happened in Zimbabwe. They would have been backing themselves to win this match, not just be competitive.

NZ had never won in Napier before.
