I love the concept of a tournament that pits the top Associates vs the weakest Full Members with plenty at stake, as the cricket will be fantastic to watch and we'll get some great moments from it. But I hate how this is treated as a 2nd tier tournament and not a part of the actual world cup.

The way football does it - many small groups, every game high stakes, and then leading into the KO stages - is ideal.

They did that in 2007. Then India and Pakistan contrived to both choke at the same world cup. Then, you throw in high ticket prices and what was supposed to be a jam packed India.v. Pakistan syper 6 match wound up being Ireland v. Bangladesh
