Congrats to all four qualifiers, and to Afghanistan for arguably the greatest achievement of all.

Scotland must be gutted and relieved at the same time, but for them retaining ODI status but not going to the WC I'd say the gut reigns atm.

Namibia fought well in the S8's, but their strength is in FC cricket and it showed.

UAE...good riddance I say, one total expat team in the second tier is enough.

To the Dutch, they made it more difficult than should have been necessary, especially with the horror results against UAE and Scotland, games they should both have won.

Ireland is clearly by far the best of the Associates.

End random thoughts here. I'll update the predictor comp later and don't forget to hand in your predictions for the final round of matches!

Fantastic for Afghanistan. When Namibia were playing at the 2003 World Cup, I would have laughed if someone had suggested that Afghanistan would beat them and gain ODI status within a decade. Incredible.

I hope they're at the 2015 World Cup in this part of the world.

Just need Nepal and Zambia to come through and knock off Canada and UAE. Then we might have a good core group of sides that all develop their own home talents.

Uganda showed enough. Hopefully they can build upon their performances here and get a helping hand from CSA like Namibia does.

What are the odds that the BCCI suddenly backtracking on reducing World Cup places for associates from 6 to 4 just so that Afghanistan can be there?

So, the final day with Afghanistan making their ODI debut.

Not as interseting and exciting today. Still good nonetheless.

Ouma out for a duck in the 3rd place playoff. Kenya 0/1

Waters the new batsmen.

Afghanistan 12/0 after 1. Good start.

Yep, some nice pointless ODI's today, just like the big nations play all the time.

Ouma gone for a duck, Schiferli again.

Hoping for Afghanistan to win their first ever ODI, the Dutch to prove they really are a good side, and for Ireland to get what they deserve: tournament victory.

Hey im not taking anything away from the point they're ODI's, just Friday was much more exciting with all the possible outcomes. Today is still good, some players being rested though.

Agree completely. I was actually entirely serious. They're ODI's, they're pointless...it's exactly like what the big boys play all the time.

My main point of interest today: can Edgar Schiferli become the leading wicket taker for the tournament?

So far so good for Schiferli.
