The women keep asking for 5 day tests because two thirds of tests end in draws. I would prefer to go down a different route. Have a 4 day limited over test. You get a result. More purposeful batting. Only 4 days. Of course nobody will do this as people are so conservative.

I think the main reason for those Tests ending in draws are the lifeless pitches so many have been played on. Aus/Eng finally played on a half decent one in 2023 and we got a brilliant Test which could've gone either way.

The Ashes coming after Xmas, hopefully we get a decent pitch this time because the last one in Aus was a joke.

SA and England are playing a test on the tour in December. I can't recall when last we had a home test. Going by the pitches usually dished up in mens fixtures don't expect the Bloem pitch to be nice to bowlers.

But Knott sees them home with a well-made 44*.

That was a fun first game of the comp.

Pleased to see NZ batting a bit better in this second ODI so far.

Meanwhile, heck of a finish in WBBL game two. The 15-year-old played an amazing cameo late in the Sixers' chase.

Phoebe Litchfield played a bit of a lone hand for the Thunder in that game - 51 out of 110 all out (and the total was 90 when she got out).

Another shocker for Chamari, she seems to have totally lost her form/confidence.

Disappointing way for the ferns to start a decider with Bates getting run-out and Down falling quickly as well.
Hoping Devine can really step up and have a big game tonight.
