I think we all admire people who stand up to have a pop at a minority sport. It's bold and damn well original. There really should be more derision given to people without testicles playing our sports.

Well done for not caring about being offensive to an huge swathe of people, kudos for bravery.

Of course you could have just not clicked on the thread, and commented at all, like I do with 100s of threads on the forum of things I'm not interested in.

I've had a theory for a while that women ought to be able to make better spin bowlers than men, because of greater wrist/shoulder flexibility. In fact, if my theory is correct, it's one of the few ways in which a female sportsperson ought to be better than a male equivalent (thanks mostly to cricket being a skill and not strength based sport)/

Eng Women beat NZ Women in a convincing manner.

And seems like there is T20 Competition scheduled in Australia next season.

Anyone keeping an eye out for Women's ODI Championship? England bit ahead but it's early days whereas India only got 1 win so far.

Seems like a pretty even opportunity (if not in results) for all the 8 teams concerned. Dunno how home team is decided.

England ties the series 2-2 against NZ with 1 match left in the series. Though it was only 1st 3 matches that counted to ODI Championship.

Women's pro cricket should be stopped until such time they can show the game is viable. Currently, women's cricket is completely dependent on the men's game for finance. Millions of pounds are being poured into women's cricket, when there is clearly no demand for it. Crowds at grounds and TV ratings for women's internationals are pretty much non-existant. Most other women's sports that exist have shown they can generate sufficient revenues to support themselves. The truth of the matter is, people, including women, do not want to watch women's cricket.

A woman taking a few wickets in a men's club game doesn't mean much. Anyone can take wickets here and there. Even a 10 year old bowling in a men's game will take some wickets. When players hit out against medium pace they will at times mistime shots and get caught. It's the nature of the game.

Well done to the NZ White Ferns for coming back from a 0-1 scoreline to win the T20 series 2-1 against Australia in Australian conditions.

Watching it made me wonder if today's women's cricket would be at the level of cricket in Grace's era around the late 1800s/early 1900s.

Hmmm.. Would say a bit below that from what I have seen.
Yup, then you're getting bowlers like Larwood and batsmen like Bradman. The fastest of the bowlers I saw in the women's match was the Kiwi lass who was getting it through at 119 kms.
