I only caught a bit of the first innings, but when I heard her on TV comms she sounded like she was trying really hard to highlight the positives of England's bowling (Ecclestone in particular). Must be extremely frustrating for her.

I'm feeling pretty flat about this series now. It's such a shame because I was really looking forward to the test when they announced it.

Tbf there were positives to take during that first innings, Australia seemed to be struggling to quite get to a par score (which is about what they got in the end) before the last burst by Mooney.

The batting was truly dismal though. Really inexcusable.

Oh yeah, I don't think she was incorrect at all in her praise, just that it came across as though she was trying to make it very clear that she wasn't just being overly critical or negative about the team. Which she never was; her points were fair and coming from a place of wanting the issues she was noticing to be addressed.

The batting we've seen throughout the series makes me pretty worried for the test tbh. Different format and all, but if some of the players are completely checked out I'm not sure they'll be able to adjust.

If Australia show no signs of mercy which they probably won't, the test match may well end up an embarrassment.
