I only caught a bit of the first innings, but when I heard her on TV comms she sounded like she was trying really hard to highlight the positives of England's bowling (Ecclestone in particular). Must be extremely frustrating for her.

I'm feeling pretty flat about this series now. It's such a shame because I was really looking forward to the test when they announced it.
Tbf there were positives to take during that first innings, Australia seemed to be struggling to quite get to a par score (which is about what they got in the end) before the last burst by Mooney.

The batting was truly dismal though. Really inexcusable.

Oh yeah, I don't think she was incorrect at all in her praise, just that it came across as though she was trying to make it very clear that she wasn't just being overly critical or negative about the team. Which she never was; her points were fair and coming from a place of wanting the issues she was noticing to be addressed.

The batting we've seen throughout the series makes me pretty worried for the test tbh. Different format and all, but if some of the players are completely checked out I'm not sure they'll be able to adjust.

McGrath at 8 in the Tests. Despite having lot of bowling options, they could do with a specialist.

England look better balanced but they need to perform better than they have. Weird that the Test is a dead rubber.

When you've already got 4 or 5 very good bowlers it only makes sense.
Not disputing the selection, I just think the order is a bit off. I'd rather see McGrath re-establish herself as an important batter higher up the order now she's found form again.

Fair – Australia's batting order always seems a little weird. One does of course get way more of a batting opportunity when listed to bat #8 in tests than in ODIs but it's still not ideal for McGrath.

Healy's captaincy is below par in some ways IMO - she doesn't seem to use the bowling options she has very well. McGrath did a lot better job rotating the bowlers, while also getting the win.

Lot of starts this innings. Someone really should have made a big score. NSB is still a shot I suppose but pretty ordinary from England.

This tour really has turned into a proper England Away Ashes capitulation worthy of the men's side. Kudos ladies.
I think it's worse, even the men didn't lose all the one dayers too. In fact, 2006-07 got turned around a bit by them.

Ecclestone just looks like she can't give a **** anymore, such a cheap dismissal and not playing for NSB. She'll get some help on this pitch, whether she can be arsed or not remains to be seen.
