To be fair to @Burgey mate, he hasn't gone down the predictable Glenn McGrath route of a whitewash, he does think we will draw one test.

Mind you, that's not because we're any good but because our weather is so ****e, one test is bound to be rained off.😆

The upside for us is that as long as we don't get beat 4 nil or worse, we'll be able to claim a moral victory. 😆
Bold to assume I care for morality tbh

Yeah Australia's fast bowling has been a bit suspect for a while. Jonassen, King and now Gardner have really covered up for the failings there, but it's clearly the weak link in the side.
Not helped by injuries to the likes of Vlaeminck.

old Burgey is risking a lot of comeback:D
This does not concern me. There's no point being reserved in your predictions if you are confident in them. I am not someone given to predicting Aus will win everything - I said they wouldn't win a test on the recent India tour, for example. They surprised me with how they went.

But what I won't do is just mail it in. What you'll get from me every time is top quality, big time performances. I'll be here putting in the show stoppers day in, day out. Doing the Placido Domingo.

Healy playing the test match despite a fractured finger on each hand before the game is true Aussie grit. The spirit of TOTAB who played at Lord’s in 85 and made 196 with a broken thumb.

No England player would put themselves through that for their country, hence Australia was, is and always will be a superior sporting nation.

I dunno, Bairstow bravely kept with 10 thumbs in the 1st Men's Ashes test.

You’re kidding yourselves if you think that England can match Australia’s top end talent

Perry & Healy are 2 atgs

Gardner, Mooney & McGrath are heading that way

Our number 8 scored 137* & did it pretty easy

Meanwhile, arguably the greatest female batter of all time didn’t play

Not knocking England at all but Australia is probably the best cricket team in history because they’re all guns

NSB and Ecclestone are roughly at that level IMO. The difference is that they're two versus the eight or so Aus can put up in every given game even with injuries

Precisely that. Sutherland would bat at 5 in virtually every other Test team (she may well end up doing that for Australia), but such is the current strength, she can roll in at 8 and make a virtually chanceless ton and turn the game.

In a combined team, Aus would take NSB and Ecclestone, and on that performance Beaumont (but not generally). The pacers were kind of much of a muchness, but they weren't really helped by the pitch. At least Filer showed some decent potential.

I predicted at the start that England would probably win a couple of the limited overs games at best whilst being generally competitive but not quite good enough. Nothing has changed my mind on that.

Bit like me then. England win 2-1

With Healy playing with 2 broken fingers all I can think of is how bent and ugly Ian Healy's fingers are. Toughness runs in the family obviously

NSB is the best bat in the world currently and Ecclestone is the best bowler in the world. They're got others who can chip in and help these two. The problem is they have weak links and players who are still trying to make their name in the game. Having said that, they are not a weak team at all. If Sutherland didn't score that 100 in the first innings against the run of play, they'd have won this Test match.

I'd add Heather Knight and Tammy Beaumont to that list - they're both top talents.

Knights 168* at Canberra last year is as good an innings as a captain can make - she's a classy operator
