South Africa winning a semi-final - I'm having a hard time adjusting to this strange new reality.

Seriously though, that must rank as one of the best ever performances by the women's team. The batting hasn't really fired during the tournament, but it came good at the right time, and that was an incredible bowling performance to take the game away from England after the start they got.

Whatever it takes!!!
@Molehill guess the bad karma from all the cheating that day by England and the last wicket partnership came back to bite your team pretty bad huh? :p

But seriously, I think you are a decent poster and you are new here, and I kinda get why many in the SENA countries think the run out at non-striker's end backing up (RONSBU) is frowned upon but you gotta understand it really pretty much always is the non-striker's fault and absolutely no one else's. The sooner we can sort out this basic fact, the better it is for everyone. Deepti did the right thing, your player didn't. End of story.

Congrats Proteas!

Laura and Brits really set the tone.

Ismail is fire!

Dunkley was blindly slogging her and Capsey was seriously scared of the bouncer. She's bowling at 75mph, and that's considered rapid in Womens cricket.

Obviously gutted for England a bit like India yesterday, they should have won

Pleased for S Africa and its good to see another team in a final and whilst I doubt they'll beat the Aussies hopefully it'll boost the domestic game.

It's basically Neil Wagner pace.

South Africa have never beaten Australia. Lost every T20Is and even if you expand to ODIs, their best result is a tie and they’ve been playing each other since the late 90s. Would be one of the biggest upsets in sport if they can win on Sunday.

Congratulations South Africa! Even though I lost money betting on England, as an Aussie, I'm glad we're not playing England. Of course Australia are favourites, but the 2 semis have proved anything is possible.

Of course India is disappointed, but they should take a lot of heart out of this. So much went wrong and they still almost won.

Well done ladies, obviously going in as the underdog next match, hopefully the sold out crowd will lift them.

Surprised at Nadine De Klerks bowling.

All that bickering between some England players didnt look good. BBC comments section really having a go

Doesn't matter which team made the final anyone but Australia winning is a big upset. 7 women world cup's, aus have won 5 and lost 1 final. The dominance is very clear. Only lost 3 t20i's between the last and this wc.
SA did get close in the semi in 2020.
Either way they have gone where no senior protea side have ever gone at a world cup.

I have to say Tazmin Brits has been really impressive in this tournament. I didn't rate her particularly highly based on what I'd seen of her previously, but I was wrong.

Yeah as someone who has seen her play in the last year or so, it didn't appear like she belonged in T20 cricket. She always batted pretty slow but she did convert that slow start into a brilliant innings of substance when it mattered. Hope this is the start of her transformation in this format.

I don't get why Harmenpreet has been so defensive about criticism of the way she took that second run. It was genuinely one of the lazier, more careless run outs you'll see. She was ill and all but those are the sorts of details that cost India a place in the final, they have to be addressed.
